Today, the University of Auckland’s Senate is meeting to consider making its controversial Waipapa Taumata Rau course optional. It should. Students want, and deserve, choice. If UoA want to be a world-class uni, it should put the interests of students, not Treaty ideology, first.

English had them do similar unnecessarily to the entire stock of state houses in Tauranga which have since cost tax payers probably almost $200 million in market rent subsidies with Tauranga being at the top of scale for rents in the country now
