He’s got a favorite teacher who suggested he was dyslexic. We had him tested and she was correct. She works with him a lot and taught him about how his brain processes things. She’s a godsend! She’s retiring and he requested to bring her flowers. ☺️ Happy Monday!

The 12 yo asked to set his alarm at 6:00 am on a Saturday and head up to the coffee shop with grandpa to catch up with the local farmers and then to the farm to help out. Farm life is so fun my kids choose work over electronics and I ❤️❤️❤️ it! He’s officially a solo operator!

We were there for her birth. We decided we couldn’t make our relationship work years ago. We worked hard at learning how to co-parent and raise her together with love. We sit together at all events, communicate weekly and hosted her graduation party together! Put the kids first!

As posted earlier, my 3 kids went to school mask-less today for the first time in 695 days. My 2nd grader came home and said “it was the best day ever! I didn’t even recognize some people without a mask on!” Facial expressions are needed at all ages.😁Masks be gone! Hello smiles!

Dad got EXCELLENT news from the kidney doctor! The the cancer isn’t in his kidney, but a tumor on it and it can easily be removed with kidney in tact! In true farmer fashion, the doc is letting him finish harvest and will remove it the first week in Dec! Thanks for the prayers!

Thanks to the AWESOME medical staff at OSF, surgery was a success! Removed over 1000ml from the cyst and she’s good as new now! 😉 Thanks to everyone for the well wishes, prayers, and positive vibes! We are feeling very blessed! Now it’s time for some R&R!

I’ve had a love/hate relationship with this fridge since purchasing it 8 months ago. I clean and polish the outside all the time and it always has streaks in it. Well…Turns out it polishes up real nice if you remove the plastic wrap from the stainless sections! Who knew? 🤷♀️🤦♀️

Cancer sucks, but way to kick ass little lady! My great niece was diagnosed with a rare cancer and given a 13% chance. She’s still going in for scans, but so far so good! She flew up from SC to enjoy some IL farm time! I prayed to be able to take this picture for the past year!

My dad is scheduled for open heart surgery on Thursday.The past month was a little hectic..he had two surgeries and both carotid arteries are now unclogged.The open heart surgery has us all really concerned. There’s a part of me who wants to be 5 again and not understand reality.

18 yrs ago, this girl made us parents. We didn’t marry and fought like hell for a year. We decided to take off the boxing gloves, accept that we weren’t meant to be together and raise a little girl with love and support. He’s been one of my dearest friends and we were successful!

2020 my dad had to have 2 carotid artery and open heart surgery. 2021 he got Covid and it led to them finding kidney cancer. It was removed. Today they found another spot on his kidney so it’s back to the operating table after harvest! 3rd year in a row and 5th surgery! Prayers🙏

3 weeks ago today, my dad had open heart surgery. This evening, he drove himself to our house, sat at the bar and enjoyed some pulled pork! His strength and determination never ceases to amaze me! 2020 hasn’t been great, but this has been my highlight so far! ❤️

The 11 yo is getting his first lesson driving the big rig today! He was recently promoted to grain cart operator trainee and now he’s ready to continue his career path! It’s my dads 49th year farming part of this farm and I’m excited to watch him teach his grandson too!

I admire my beautiful 16yo. As my dad prepares for a quadruple bypass on Thur, the hospital won’t allow anyone else into the hospital. She asked if she can at least ride up with grandma and keep her company on the drive. She made me a mom and them grandparents. She’s our glue. ❤️

We have a cemetery on the farm dating back to the 1800’s. It’s on a peaceful hillside and since we have many family members who have been cremated and spread here too. My brother in law made a cross and today we set it on the hill. I love it!
