We’re in retail!! We assisted this client with their food safety and quality management systems to get into the formal market!

If you know Reabetswe Malema or have ever been involved with him, please reach out to me. We placed an order for potatoes 26/12/23 and paid a deposit of R87000. Up to today we have not received a single potato or money back. He operates under Black Farmers Food Group.
One of our amazing farmers delivered this order around 20:30 last night. We won’t stop at anything. Food security belongs in the hands of the 2million small holder farmers in SA.

45000 chicks gone! Farming is not for the faint hearted. It’s also not glamorous. It’s hard work, blood, sweat and tears. I feel for this farmer!

My first time attending
#Nampo2022
and it was amazing. Finally met
@Gugulethu_CM
and
@BayandaTancredi
as well as so many other farmers that’s addressing the issue of transformation in the agricultural environment.
Still Remember Sizwe from Kagiso who was selling meat from his mobile braai stand? We featured him last year September.
He has just sent us these pictures. He's now an owner of a butchery 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
The reason farmers do not want to sell to retail is payment terms!! We’ve been chasing a buyer for more than a month to make a R93000 payment. Letter of demand did nothing. I’m tired😩😩
Went to see my favorite farmer today!
@kokiebaloyi26
is really making the pots guys! If there was ever a resilient farmer, it’s her. We’re working towards food security and no one is gonna stop us!

Farmers would rather buy feed from a shop than the actual producer who only increases price once a year. We currently get 40 kg layer mash for R290 and it won't change for a year mara you wanna buy feed from baas john who's price increases every month.
We conducted our first food safety training in Sepedi!!! This is such a milestone for Krystal Consulting. No one should be denied training in their language of choice 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Can there be an emphasis on developing small holder farmers to start supplying as well. There’s no use we only give opportunity to the commercial farmers that already flood the local markets.
The South African red meat value chain is cautiously optimistic for Saudi Arabia to possibly start importing South African beef in January next year, writes Lloyd Phillips.

The organizers of this market is to blame for this. There’s a station for you to purchase hubbly evens. Imagine coming from a hike from the reserve next door to this! Give me zero
This beautiful peppers all the way from Louis Trichardt by this amazing farmer.
@May_thelordt
it was a pleasure meeting you! Here’s to many more peppers.

Went to a retail store yesterday to find a tray of 30 large eggs at R70. If you do not want to pay farmers their prices, please go and pay exorbitant fees there. I’m tired of negotiating.

Probeer om verby te scroll en nie iets te se nie, maar dit is nogal taamlik swaar om nie iets te voel nie. Dit sit nie te lekker by nie, ek wil amper se sy goeters maar nou ja.

You’re a predator and klaar! For you to tweet it to start with is just gross! I hope you don’t have kids let alone be around them🤮🤮
Dear farmers. Please use clean water for irrigation, cleaning and in production. The thyphi outbreak is a testament of how easy Salmonella can spread. If you’re using chicken manure for fertilisation, please be careful. Wash your crops before sale! We don’t wanna be held liable!

From one episode, all coloureds are seemingly ill mannered. Stop grouping and classing people. You can never make such a statement. Then I can also say all blacks are ill mannered from the previous episodes. Start thinking please
For all farmers doing home slaughtering, please be reminded of the
#farmspaces
we had on food safety during slaughtering. You’re not allowed to sell meat that was slaughtered at home. Should a customer fall ill, the responsibility lies solely on you!

This is someone negotiating for her life. Please please get it right. This girl would have done anything for that man not to kill her. It is a miracle that she is alive
I fully understand how you spend your money however, in the process of you raising your views, you were trying to invalidate a small business owner. You have influence that can negatively affect her business. You don’t have to like fake nails but you don’t have to bash a business
Chasing the sun is truly a masterpiece. The sense of desperation from the Boks wanting to win for our country. Getting a small window into what happens behind the scenes. No words!!

I'm a food scientist and I'm an advocate of consumers being aware what they eat, and making better choices thereafter. Some people work for these manufacturers and turn a blind eye when they're brand is exposed in the media. I left previous employment because of ethics.
Being a founder is so challenging sometimes however, when I reflect on how far we’ve come and why I started, I remain steadfast. Small holder farmers supplying safe food and assisting with food security!!
Increase in fuel prices leads to an increase in input costs for farmers. Feed, fertilisers you name it. Please don’t ask for discounts on top of that, we have enough struggles!
@crheede1
With national delegates in presence, how is it even a thought yo partly host an event in afrikaans? Majority of the farmers you’re trying to assist is black and understand little no to afrikaans. It’s disappointing that you’re even trying to justify this
Non-farmers selling PESI vouchers will always amaze me. Like, do you know how we’re struggling out here man??! We need to get some method to validate if you’re an actual farmer with these applications because wow!

will be epic. Farming is practical everywhere we are. Let's ask the successful experts how they do it.

Mama Samba!! We had a birthday celebration. Drinks were flowing. Everyone had more or less the same amount of drinks but my friend was completely out of it after her last drink. She went home and we later discovered she had large quantities of the date rape drug in her system.
So much insight was shared by the panelists yesterday. Thank you to the
@masisizanefund
for such a necessary interaction. The takealot voucher was a bonus!
@MorolongZA
hopefully no one is ending up in Bali!
If the demographic attendance of Nampo2022 is anything to go by, us melanated farmers need to stick together and help each other now more than ever. Cultivate relationships and help your fellow farmer where you can!
I’m attending the One Food Workshop. A lot of feedback regarding what government and other stakeholders are trying to spearhead for the agricultural industry.
If you’re not excepting of increased product prices, please find another supplier. Don’t try negotiate a ridiculous price. Everything is expensive! Petrol, feed, electricity, water, medication! Respect farmers!!
When you bring up these issues you’re called unpatriotic and that you live in the past. Being involved in sports and agriculture has showed me that we still have a very very long way to go. Sweeping it under the rug does not help either!!
And that’s exactly why this clip of Ashwin Willemse hurt so many people who understand the history of South African rugby.
You can hear Ashwin’s voice breaking.
Ashwin earned his stripes yet he still had to deal with quota player related micro aggressions. Just 5 years ago.
@Tsogang3
We’re in the process of developing a recipe for feed. It’s trial and error but it has been successful. For the time being I’m ordering Epol since all the other feed has not shown the same results.
@therealxolo
Did my thesis on how to preserve Kefir/Kephir. It struggled to launch in SA for obvious reasons (name). The beverage is made by inoculation the grains into a base dairy or non-dairy hence the creamy mouth feel. It originates from Russia but has footprints in Europe and Asia
