3/1/21 I’ll be joining LSU as an Assistant Groundskeeper and taking over the grounds at Alex Box Stadium. I’m honored to be joining the turf management team and this illustrious baseball program. There’s a lot of exciting things to come and I can wait to get to work

Happy to announce I’ve been promoted to Superintendent by my DOA Drew Street. It’s an honor and I look forward to growing in this new role at MCC. It’s been an insane year. It’s also been a great one. Lots of learning, growth, challenges and new experiences with more to follow
Made a last minute call and decided to put a new logo in center last night. Didn’t even have purple marking paint but it worked either way. White and touch ups going down this morning.

After 5 months of being here I’m finally getting some QT at the game mound. I’ll call the first photo “Finding 9” lol Yesterday we built a new 3’x6’ table (not reg) but at least the height is. Flipped the rubber as well, had to make some tweaks to its whereabouts in the universe

host Northwestern in Baton Rouge.
The squirrel was released outside the gates to Alex Box Stadium.

@gavin_dugas04
is probably one of the best players/ overall human begins I’ve come across. Congrats on the walk big guy, now let’s go get a regional.
Lots of people out here saying they miss baseball tarp pulls. Let me be the first to call BS. I’ve never had one person excited about pulling tarp at 8am or ever in general.
@MiLBprobz
I got exactly what I wanted today for my birthday. A fully prepped and scalped field that’s getting ryegrass put on it in the morning. Took 14 hours, but it’s done. Today was a long day, today was a hard day. But dammit today was good day.

Looking better. Still a couple scars if you’re standing on top of it. But they’ll grow in, C4 conditions are quickly approaching by the end of the week. Time to get it moving.
Shout out to
@TCU_Dirtbags
,
@TCUManagers
and all others involved for helping us beat six inches of rain, play all three games and look pretty good on tv for the first home series of 2018.

Finally got around to swapping aerosol for dyed calcined a few weeks back. This stencil needs some tweaks…More variations and specialty days are loading ⏳
4/1 - 6/14. Thanks to all that have helped, this is the product of a strong collective effort. Still a long ways to go, a few additional improvements were made in the last couple days, but let’s check back again in two months.

It’s a rarity you see the umpires let the Grounds Crew pull a tarp before rain hits during a game.... I understand Phillys coach and the game situation. But they avoided a dangerous situation with the tarp pull. This needs to happen more often.
I’m confident we’ve done enough to get a shot at post season play. Which is why today, I’ll be prepping this place for a practice for tomorrow. Baseball can be fickle, so don’t stop till the game tells you to.
That’s better-ish. We had to cut it short today due to an impromptu practice and a pissed off irrigation system. After the mid week tomorrow We will be putting the same size area behind this one for the catchers.
If you come into the stadium to take photos, you’re more than welcome to everyday.
If let yourself onto the field, into the dugout and start taking balls and equip…I’m gonna make an example out of you in front of your kid every single time.
Touched up our worn areas today with some home grown thick cut. Dropped hoc to .500 and gave her some bayonet tines on the infield. Couldn’t sling sand today due to logistical reasons but tomorrow is shaping up for that + punching the outfield + a granular app.
It’s my last day till it’s time to get serious and make the trek to Baton Rouge. So today I’m gonna golf my face off
@SweetensCove
with some great company because I’m not going to be back for a minute. Let’s get after it!
Fall 2019 “Yeah it takes us about two days work to put all the steel in on the infield for renovations”
2020: 8 hours
2021: 4 hours
So we got that going for us, which is nice.
Made it! A few strong gusts last night but everything stayed pretty in place. We were fortunate. With that being said please say a prayer for the people of Houma, Lockport, Raceland, Nola and others south/ east of us. They took the brunt of it.
