Trent Dilfer said in his talk this morning that he spent $90,000 on nutrition for his football program this season (high school). I got our school to put a Gatorade machine in the commons so we are pretty much on the same level.

Why do coaches want kids to lift in their schools with their teammates? Because when we go to the Y we see kids with $100 outfits and 50 cent squat form. Lifting under supervision of someone who can teach form, technique, and appropriate progressions is important.

Last year our staff wanted vests-- went with the Amazon Essentials version over the Nike/UA brand ones-- Had a local place embroider them for about $8/ an item. Ended up costing about $40/ each as opposed to $80- Great way to stretch the budget!

This year was Ronnie’s first (and only) year of football. He plays scout team every day. Some days guard, some days wide receiver. He has never complained about playing time, and has maybe 10 snaps all year. Today he got his first swing at the rock. He is a great teammate.

I'm not sure those outside of the process truly understand how hard it is to win and how much goes into it every week. Its not normal-- it takes a special effort- and I'm really proud of our kids for giving that effort each week-- especially the guys who never see glory.

I’m all about kids sleeping more but somewhere in their life some adults need to demand less of them for this to happen. We either need to practice less, give them less homework, have fewer open gyms, or ask them to volunteer less/ less clubs or activities.
The importance of sleep. Tom Brady goes to sleep each night at 8:30 pm. LeBron sleeps 12 hours night when training.

I had a girlfriend in college who woke up super sick and could barely move one day on draft day... I took her to the ER/ urgent care, dropped her off, went home and watched the draft all day then came back and picked her up when she was done.

As someone who served and saluted fallen comrades who died on foreign soil, it’s not disrespectful to the flag to knee during the anthem... it’s disrespectful to the flag to continue to oppress a race of people underneath the wave of a flag that is supposed to represent freedom.
So many comments being made about players kneeling during the Anthem. How it’s disrespecting the flag and our soldiers, Yet half of those people aren’t doing anything to help our soldiers who are dealing with life after War. Don’t use that as a blanket to cover up racism.
