Musk admitted to stealing emeralds from his dad when he was growing up. He also has spoken about his father's questionable investments over Errol's lifetime to the point Elon and his brother financially supported their dad for many years before cutting him off over continued bad acts and poor financial choices. So yeah, at some point his father invested in and possessed emeralds but he didn't get them from some mine he owned it had a stake in. A huge industry for Jews is diamonds yet only a few of them own diamond mines. There's a good documentary out there about New money versus Old money and the Musk family lineage is discussed indepth, it was pretty interesting.
