RT @TheHoopHerald: Completely agree with Ed Cooley here “I don't think our kids know how to fail today. They don't know how to struggle.…

@boilerjoe_96 @ChrisPKrebs Again, I’m not saying you’re wrong, based on your situation, that’s what worked. And yea, merit is usually about $30K. But if U just dig a little more, a kid can find more $ if they have elite grades, that’s all I’m saying. That cost can/will come down and be comparable IMO

@boilerjoe_96 @ChrisPKrebs Respect it, don’t agree with all of it. I know kids who went to “state school” and had a balance of $25K, and kids who went to “private” schools and have balance of $30K. Every situation is definitely different, but if U R elite academic wise, U will get more money than $20K

@boilerjoe_96 @ChrisPKrebs No name D2, NAIA, D3 have some phenomenal schools. Hopefully kids/parents educate themselves on all the levels/schools, even the ones people “think” are way too expensive. Good luck to your kid!!

@boilerjoe_96 Wow!!! No name D2, D3, NAIA??? I know quite a few D1 kids who are playing in front of crowds that are 100, 120 people in the stands, just like at other levels as well…. The “bigger name” school doesn’t always carry weight just because it’s the bigger school, IMO.

@CoachJTaul @The901R 100% agree with this as well…. That’s why when kids say, I’m trying get that NIL 💴, I’m like OK, good luck…. And I’m all for D1 if kids have full rides, everything is paid for, etc. But if it’s about playing and U aren’t playing, why not look elsewhere. So many options

@CoachMo_Boykins Right where U are supposed to be, keep going…. Sometimes we don’t even recognize it, but the “NO” is the blessing that will lead U to the blessing U deserve…. What happens when GOD says “NO” I don’t want U there, I want U here…. Keep leading!!!

Coaches still looking for a solid guard in 25, check out @GaleLamb23
6’2 George Washington High School G @GaleLamb23. Coaches still looking for a 25 G who can knock down shots at all 3 levels, please connect. Can play 1 or 2, can defend and carries a 3.5 GPA. I know it’s getting late, but he’s looking for an opportunity

@mchssen That’s an excellent point, probably the best in my opinion…. I’ve always said, it’s more about what U do with the opportunity that actually matters more…. I love that!!

@boilerjoe_96 Generally speaking, yes. But that don’t mean just because U go D1, U R the best (whatever “the best” means). Lots of good players go D1 bc it’s always been a dream, they want to prove something. But if U don’t play as much, would it have been better to try a non D1? Just asking.
