A very moving Remembrance ceremony took place at the De Montfort School this morning. Thank you to everyone who came along and observed a two-minute silence with staff and students to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in conflict.

Four of our y12 students are currently on a one day visit to Poland taking part in the Holocaust Education Trust Lessons from Auschwitz project. They will learn about the history of the Holocaust and to reflect on the relevance of the Holocaust today.

The De Montfort School now has a defibrillator on site and some of our staff have received the necessary training. Hopefully we will never have to use it, but It will be available to the community during normal school and sports centre opening hours.

Miss Caswell worked with us for 20 years. Our thoughts and sympathies are with her family and friends. Support is available in school for those that need it.

Please take care on your journey to school today. There was a burst water pipe yesterday resulting in a large section of ice at the junction between Four Pools Road and Four Pools Lane making it very slippery for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Students and staff at TDMS are celebrating some excellent GCSE and BTEC results, which represent a step-change in the school’s performance. TDMS has recorded a strongly positive Progress 8, the Government’s key indicator of school performance, for the first time in its history.

We've been very lucky to have legendary "Eddie The Eagle" Michael Edwards visit our school. Our students were able to ask him questions about his career, his life, the movie, and what it's like to ski jump!. They even managed to get some autographs and selfies at the end too!
