I love that we were able to start a new tradition. Remembering your Why is such a key thought when times get tough in this game!
Today we entered the locker room to find 2 post-it notes on each locker, on these notes every player was asked to write down their “why?” Players kept one note in their locker, and the other on the wall of our locker room. So each time we enter/ exit, we’re reminded of our Why!

I was never a “blue” guy. It was always “sir” for me. But I made the switch to first names in 2020 and man the level of communication noticeably improves.
Normalize addressing umpires by their first name. “Come on blue” is a green light for the umpire and his partners to big league you. Carry on.
