Egypt was involved in arming Hamas. And the US knew about it. That's why both countries were so adamant about Israel not entering Rafah, where the tunnels crossing into Egypt were. They weren't so concerned about air strikes. It was the ground troops that would find the tunnels.

As I've been saying, the US and its Arab counterparts didn't want Israel to go into Rafah, not because they were afraid for the civilian population (being evacuated btw), but because they were afraid of what Israel would find there. As it turned out, dozens of tunnels into Egypt.

Israel is going in 100%. They have evacuated over a half million civilians from Rafah into tent cities that they built in preparation for a full-scale attack on Rafah. They are ready and poised to go in. All indications are that Israel is going ahead with its mission as planned.
