longer trains. the L has super short train cars, and that's because of sharp turns on the legacy elevated network. Both subways are built with this in mind, though only the Dearborn one can actually do it because of the curve at Sheridan heading into the state st. subway.

The STL Metrolink is for the most part just like a normal rapid transit system but with light rail vehicles. There is no street running, and where it isn't grade separated it has signal priority and is treated like any other mainline rail crossing. So high floor makes sense.
