The demo from our fangame, Super Mario and the Rainbow Stars, is finally out!
Play through the prologue and the entire first chapter of the game, inspired by the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi series in a 2-4 hour long demo!

In the gallery, you'll be able to view a bestiary to read all about the creatures you've encountered, as well as read Starry's thoughts about each one. Don't forget, the demo is releasing in just 2 days!
Thank you all so much for the support, it's been insane. To give some more context, I've been working on my own mario fangame, inspired by Paper Mario & Mario and Luigi within the SMBX2 engine. Here's some screenshots!
Development files for Super Mario 64 contain an early model of the Mr. Blizzard snowman enemy that, due to missing color data, appears with yellowish green gradients. While completely unintended, this makes it appear cactus-themed, accidentally creating a plausible enemy design.
Yes, the SMATRS demo is releasing very soon! It features the prologue and the entire first chapter, and is about 2-3 hours long. Hope you're looking forward to it, we all worked very hard on it!!
Some people have told me to make an original game instead of a mario fangame, and those people are completely right! Therefor I'm reviving Super & Moony for their own original adventure with no mario elements whatsoever :)
Might have to start saying this under every post now, but no Nintendo is not going to take it down. This is being made with SMBX2, and Nintendo has never once took down anything related to it.
Saw quite a few people ask, the game's called Super Mario and the Rainbow Stars! It's still in development, though a demo is planned to release in the near future.

@Gabriel_Barsch
Most people probably get the assumption they take down every fangame when this is not really the case, here's a good thread that explains it
I guess we need to clarify something after Nintendo's recent takedown of the Super Mario Bros. Commodore 64 remake.
From what we've seen so far Nintendo does NOT go after all fangames, rather they seem to mostly target remakes of existing Nintendo games.
@stivisromhacks2
Really sucks most people will never truly understand this, I get comments about dmca takedowns all the time and it's the absolute worst
Rex's exclusion from mainline Mario just confuses me, most SMW enemies have been brought back by now (like chucks or reznor in NSMB2), yet Rex got left in the dust, only appearing in some spinoffs, despite being a pretty iconic SMW enemy
