Suffolk Public Schools Nutritional Services, led by Dr. Lawrence Whiting, has been selected to join the 2024-2025 Virginia School Recipe Development Team, a collaborative initiative with the Virginia Department of Education and the Office of School and Community Nutrition Programs. This team aims to create standardized recipes that are nutritious, delicious, and aligned with USDA guidance while highlighting local agricultural products. UPDATE: UPDATE: The power has been fully restored at Creekside Elementary School. All phone calls will now be routed directly back to the school. ATTN: Suffolk Public Schools has been made aware of a power outage in the neighborhood surrounding Creekside Elementary School that is also impacting the school. However, after evaluating the latest forecast and taking into account the anticipated precipitation, freezing temperatures, and icy conditions, Suffolk Public Schools will now be closed for students and staff tomorrow, January 22, 2025.

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. With winter weather predicted to impact our area this evening, into tomorrow morning, all after-school athletics and activities at Suffolk Public Schools are canceled for Tuesday, January 21. All buildings and schools will open on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, January 22. Please continue to monitor our official SPS communication channels for weather-related updates.
