Fun fact: Usopp's nose is actually a double reference, obviously to Pinocchio but also to a folk saying in Japan where if someone gets a huge ego or is overly confident it's called "becoming a tengu" and in manga/anime it's signified by suddenly getting a long nose!

Usopp’s nose is one of those things that makes more sense in a cartoon than in live action. It was clearly a reference to Pinnochio, just emphasizing a character trait as part of the design. But no humans actually have noses that long so it’d be disconcerting in live action.
