Agri Aware and @biOrbic_centre  were delighted to welcome the eight finalists to the 2023-2024 transition year programme Environmental Innovators programme Peer Day at the @Bordbia  Global Hub yesterday, Tuesday, February 6. From talks and presentations to engaging workshops and an interactive discussion on what solutions students had devised to solve the challenges the global food system is facing, it was nothing short of a successful day. Judges on the day had eight great projects to examine and pick a winner with the National Winners of the programme for 2023-2024 going to St. Tiernan's in Crossmolina Co. Mayo for their project titled 'Binformation'. The project centred around the disposal of waste and asking the question of do we truly understand how to recycle items properly? Runners up were Scoil Mhuire in Trim Co. Meath for their project titled 'Tackling Silage Effluent' while third place went to @GreystonesColl in Co. Wicklow for their project on ‘Community Kitchens'. Well done to all of our eight finalists on the day and to all schools who participated in the programme and once again congratulations to the overall winners of the programme St. Tiernan's College.
