This guy was Julia Gillards economic adviser, proving how ridiculously out of touch some modern economists are with reality. An increase in super and house value doesn’t pay the power bill or the food bill.
Will all the horse shit about living standards of Australians falling in recent years, note the change in net worth (wealth) per household: Net worth is up $175,000, yes $175,000, between Sep qtr 2022 & Sep qtr 2024. Boosted by surge in superannuation & moderate house price gains

@paradooprime Need to look at NGO’s that are private but are paid from the government purse, especially NDIS. Also consultants, like those paid $1/2 million to come up with Live export transition plan.

@WoolProducers @AWIExtensionWA The best wool industry post of the year and it’s only January. Listen to the customer. Steve is in touch with the processor and the producer so gives excellent advice, he also sell some cool polo shirts.
I'm presuming Sam gave you this advice? And bloody good advice it is too. This is a very broad discussion that probably will get me into trouble on twitter.. but. 1. Grow a micron that is easily achievable in your area. And grow plenty of it (kg/head). 2. Cull heavily to keep your clip as homogeneous as possible. 3. Do your absolute best to keep your wool sound avoiding weakness in the middle of staple. 4. Avoid shearing when you know your wool will be at its lowest yield. Getting expensive for processors to clean and thus heavily discounted. If you have a decent size clip, spread out selling it. You take a year to grow it. Take a year to sell it. If financially viable of course. As buyers we love even looking sound wool.. Don't chase micron for the sake of everything else. There is a massive oversupply of poorly bred superfine fleece wool that we are putting skirting limits on. This is entirely my view as a buyer and trader for 30 years plus.

@WheatWatcher But if your predecessor makes a law that you can’t drill in the Gulf of Mexico it makes sense to call it something else
