Alarming. As always, we don't have time to wait for the lunatics to be removed from control of the asylum. But until they are, we're once again rudderless in the face of this existential threat.

It's hard to believe that humanity is at a place where a headline like this, to our peril, is merely met with a yawn... "Earth is now retaining profuse excess heat - the equiavlent of a million nuclear bombs per day - in our climate system. H/T to @LeonSimons8 Linear trend

@stevenchase I don't feel particularly "abused" by Canada. It's hard to know if this is the weaponization of the administration by an enemy state, or extremist ideology among the Trump camp, or the merely the fevered ravings of a confused geriatric. The consequences are real nonetheless.

@SenThomTillis @TulsiGabbard @RobertKennedyJr @Kash_Patel Senator, how can the Republican Party ever again be trusted re: foreign and defense policy? You and your colleagues not only allow this madhouse to continue, but aid and abet it.

@FredFellaIMO @ZelenskyyUa ...I don't know, demoralized disillusioned. What even is this country, what are we? How could we have let things get so bad, been so irresponsible.

@slantchev We apparently *are* stabbing them in the back. It's not underrated. It's not a myth. It's what's happening.

A sign from brave Italians of the "addiopizzo" movement refusing to pay shakedowns from their businesses to the mafia. They have made extortion plummet. How would a movement like this work in Mexico?

Be on the lookout for Israel's government trying to tie us more deeply into the Middle East, a region on which we should be less focused.

A Wall Street Journal report suggests Israel is considering major strikes on Iran's nuclear sites this year, seeking US support under the Trump administration. An intelligence assessment from the end of the Biden era indicates Israel aims to exploit Iran's vulnerabilities. Israel is expected to push for US backing, with American military support seen as crucial for the success of these operations. Making a deal with Putin and then going into war in the Middle East would make perfect sense for America First, disinterested in Europe's safety and focused on the Pacific.

@ryanscottborman @Noahpinion It is a betrayal. We committed to defend Ukraine in 1994. We committed to defend the NATO countries indefinitely. We committed that Ukraine would join NATO. Etc. Our commitments are worthless. If it's true in Europe, it's true everywhere.
