Grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep last night. Really glad we were able to get another holiday to spend with him, and although I’m happy he’s not in pain anymore I’m going to miss him a lot. Without getting too much into it the family I have a relationship with is.

I'm done for the day. Had to say goodbye to my first student who won't be returning next semester with everything going on. Then getting all the DM's about other schools interested in the students in the program was exciting for them, but more depressing for me than I expected.

I hate seeing mass layoffs like this in esports man. Particularly when it feels like it's connected directly to a very poor decision by leadership. To build something like the CCL on your own then see it disappear after only 2 years with a different company is genuinely tragic.

I’ve had my issues with NACE in the past, but props to them for addressing the online competition topic. I know it’s a heavily debated one, but I’m still convinced we can’t let remote competition become the standard or norm. Too many issues in regards to competitive integrity.

So after giving it some thought I think I'm going to look at putting together a decent LAN at @SEUEsports. I'm thinking like 50-75 spots. We'd have to charge some sort of admission, no more than probably $50-60. Organize a small tournament, but mainly just 72 hours of free play.

CCL/All collegiate esports take:. Until there is a regulating body of some sort (really this should just be the devs) it's up to the leagues to establish some kind of rules/expectations for the health of the space. Allowing just anything to happen because "It's still growing".
