AI will kill standard setting. This from Deepseek. It can present a paragraph that you can read inside a minute. It took #ISSB member Verity Chegar over 6 minutes to do the same. Maybe they should all use AI to prepare their remarks and stay relevant? @IFRSFoundation

The issue with VPN is that the person who controls the server controls the information on it. dVPN slashes this risk by decentralising the whole network. However, malicious nodes are still an issue.

Expect calls from politicians to ban VPN. I doubt our current crop of political pygmies will be able to cope with dVPNs.

Has anyone at @HMRCgovuk spotted this issue? I'd be astonished if they hadn't.

Now that the UK is effectively mandating the use of #vpn services, here are two advantages. 1. book cheaper tickets and hotel rooms through US booking sites. 2. evade VAT on online services such as software and subscriptions. I doubt the government thought this one through.

What is noteworthy about this is that places like Altrincham and Diss were really always see as quite affluent places. This is about immigration hitting Middle England in ways they don't like.

This is why I don't think this is a great deal for the EU. They look weak, TBH. I think they know they are, too. Equally, not really much for the UK to celebrate. UK needs to pursue a Swiss-type deal. Before the IMF bailout.

9) Obviously many people in Beijing like Benjamin are very happy to see this and will push the idea that the EU should turn East. The issue is that the actual decisionmakers in Beijing never give a bit of honey to the EU to facilitate this.

I'm not sure it is a win. It is still worse, I suspect, than SM participation.

6) A rare brexit win?. It's a little embarrassing for the EU that the UK alone got a better "deal" than EU27. Layers to this of course but on the surface it's a rare win in recent years for Brexit.

Yeah, this could happen. I don't think anyone truly knows yet. I think my issue is that I'm not too sure Trump does yet.

2) And yet for the political embarrassement it remains to be seen if this all too bad economically. 15% is bad but I suspect a large part will be paid by US consumers due to inelasticity. Alternative global producers are also tariffed anyways.

Many centuries ago, there as a fear that police procedural dramas such as The Bill were teaching people how do deal with the police if under investigation, etc. Ya know, telling us we had the right to remain silent. We've just done the same with internet secrecy with VPNs.

The online safety BS was never just about the 'childrun'. What is the best defence against misinformation? . The Great Firewall of London or education?. Of course, who gets to define 'misinformation'?

The government white paper on digital harms. How they are going to censor the interweb. Buy a vpn. It is as simple as that. See: Surfshark aren't bad. Or do what I do and build your own.
