I got my

season ticket invoice and annotated the letter from Cal McNair. If he tells us how much he loves fans while doing actions that show the opposite, I guess that’s supposed to make people feel good spending thousands on the Easterby-led team?
I don’t blame him. Cal McNair ruined the Texans roster, cap, ran off good personnel, wouldn’t listen to anyone other than Jack Easterby, and blew off all complaints about him. Cal McNair chose Easterby over Watson, and it was extraordinarily stupid, sad, ugly and disrespectful.
Deshaun Watson hasn’t spoken to new Texans general manager Nick Caserio nor executive Jack Easterby. Watson is moving on and waiting to see where his NFL future takes him.

Did you know:
1. You have 10 locations in the Houston area alone.
2. My Houston timeline is double-plus displeased. You prolly know this.
3.
@Pluckers
is from Texas. (And is way better tbh).
4. Sometimes it’s best to not use words.
5. Sorry about your weekend. 🤷🏻♀️
I love how much of a true Houston guy Andre Johnson is, on top of being one of the best ever. We collect all the badasses. Sometimes they stay.

I’m not good with anything Houston Texans until Deshaun Watson is good being a Houston Texan. It’s going to be an ugly energy until or if that happens, and I just don’t want or need that in my life. I need to place my care in escrow. :/

fans can’t avoid touching their faces.
Exactly ZERO people from the team have explained or justified this trade. Given relative performance and value, why should any fans buy any of this? This action and how it has been handled is a total joke.
The NFL gave the IP rights to Bud Adams. He did a secret deal to betray his home for more money. TN made fun of the name, didn’t care what Earl thought, wanted change. Locals picked Titans, a Greek myth about gods who were perverts and losers. All facts->
NFL is doing full on clown stuff today. Like this wasn’t even flagged.
Flag plays. Eject a guy if something is super bad and obviously intentional. Perryman’s suspension is a clownery. Players careers are limited length, they risk everything, inventing suspensions is THEFT.
Young people don’t get it other than basic troll face stuff or vintage costuming. The move ruined careers. It hurt people. Last time I saw Bum give a speech, it was about the special connection the Earl teams had with Houston. In the context of today, this is dishonorable.
I hope this helps. TCM is a staple channel in hospitals and senior living homes. My mom watches sports and TCM the most. Times watching TCM with my folks and seeing all sorts of remarkable movies I would not otherwise have seen has been welcomed, amazing.

Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, and Paul Thomas Anderson have organized an emergency call to David Zaslav that will take place today to advocate for saving one of the greatest brands in cinephilia, TCM.
I enjoy how C.J. corrects casual disrespect. Not defensively. Not angrily. Not making non-debatable things a fake debate. Just tells people how it is. At some point, casual disrespect just becomes a bygone because he is confident like that.
Texans QB C.J. Stroud was a guest on “Cold As Balls” hosted by comedian/actor Kevin Hart. In this clip Stroud elaborates on his relationship with HC DeMeco Ryans.

Andre Johnson could be off in Florida enjoying retirement, waiting for his named to be called to Canton.
Instead he spends a good amount of time around the Texans organization.

No.
1. Not what others sign
2. He’s supposed to sign a waiver excusing the NFL from any possible active bad actions? No way. Nobody should do that. Didn’t see the specific language but it is bad form to spring weird contractual terms last second.
Good morning. Glorious day in Houston. 🌞
It is 15 days since this tweet. And Cal McNair still cares more about Easterby over everyone. All the people who put years of time, work, money, heart into this franchise.
It’s both not surprising and blows my mind every day.
Good morning! 🌞☕️
It’s been one month since Andre Johnson named the name and told everyone how it is. Cal McNair chose Easterby over Watson and everyone. The hiring/firings since show Easterby is fully in charge.
Blows my mind every single day.
Thanks for everyone’s kindness

Why are
#Texans
fans sharing videos of old Jack Easterby speeches?
1 Concerning SI reporting about him not fully addressed by team
2 Rewarded and unaccountable, made available to media only once
3 Trying to understand why Cal McNair chose Easterby over Watson, everyone
4 !!??!!
Respectfully, the Texans party? Cal McNair trusted an incompetent person to be head of football ops, then GM. He rewarded poor work by giving Easterby a key role its future and ran an odd GM/HC search despite having most of a season for a fresh start.
I feel bad for all of us.
Talk about spoiling Texans party with new coach hire, it’s leaking to national media by people close to Watson he’s made an official trade request. I feel bad for new coach David Culley on what should be best day of his career.
Oh my. Wasn’t expecting to see Babs on my TL. Glad she is being remembered. My kids and their friends all knew Gammy. She was tough as nails, baked incredible cakes, was fun to talk sports with. She did so much for so many. ❤️🙏🏻

We’re losing everything to this guy. Dying. :/
Well, they are nuts. Cal McNair chose a non football person in Jack Easterby over Deshaun Watson, players, staff, fans, everyone. He is oblivious and obviously believes zero accountability combined with toxic positivity, unnecessary suffering, and good intentions is just fine.
I've seen coach mic'd ups where the head coach says the next play is gonna be a TD, but I've never seen it for a pick-6.

#WeAreTexans
As shocking on the surface and unpopular as the DeAndre Hopkins trade is, multiple sources noted throughout past year that friction existed between him and Bill O'Brien that could ultimately lead to his exit. And it did today. How they pivot from this will be interesting
The Houston
#Texans
are not a healthy team and have not been for a while. They do not have healthy relationships with a lot of people. It’s angering and sad to many people. Players shouldn’t have to “block out the noise” about their leadership.
The main issue is Cal McNair has made it clear by actions/words he cares more about Jack Easterby than anyone else: More than players, longtime people who are trying to look out for the team and his interests, staff, fans, $, winning. Makes you question his judgment in his role.
One league source connected to the Texans' HC situation said Saturday: "It's gone from the least desirable head coaching job to the most undesirable head coaching job in the NFL. That's a fact. That's how that job is now looked at by everybody."
Mookie Betts on the call that went the Red Sox way in the first: "As I jumped and went over, reached my hand up I felt like somebody pushed my glove..I guess they got the call right."

I cannot remember the last time I was so disappointed in a decision in Houston sports history.
Not specific to Caserio but given the circumstances of the Texans recent history and what a poor decision this is in context.
Personally, my feelings are in escrow. Do whatev.
Cal McNair AND Nick Caserio have chosen Jack Easterby over Deshaun Watson and everyone.
I will never ever get over this. It was goofy when Easterby was named EVP of football ops. And goofy when he was named interim GM. And now? Beyond extra-dimensionally goofy.

RIP Regis Philbin. Thank you for one of the most meaningful experiences in my life and for the money.
On my episode, he got mad, stopped taping because of an unfair question another contestant got, kicking her out of the hotseat with zero. They replaced the q, and she won 64k.
Way beyond that. Good GMs matter.
The
#Texans
wasted two Watson Watt years with no real GM. The guy at the center of that, Jack Easterby, remains and keeps an “important role.” This is enraging to those who don’t trust him, worry he deters some candidates/players.
The Supreme Court Hearings are a full-on joke. The Supreme Court is a total joke. This will be the 4th justice named to a life-time appointment that should not be there except these jokers want the process of appointment to be a sham, garbage, banana republic full-on joke.
A question. If you practice and share your faith differently than Jack Easterby or profess no faith at all, is there a place for you to be who you are with the Houston Texans?

Sometimes the best punishment is to ask the person who made a mistake what the best way to make up for it is. And maybe you will agree. It’s a nice mental exercise on responsibility.

Nothing like being "honest and forthright" and "doing the best for the Houston Texans" while rewarding Easterby with an "important role" in the franchise despite reports that "the vast majority of the franchise (85-90%) did not trust the person brought in to improve the culture"
It’s no epic battle. It’s a toxic workplace that Watson and many others tried to fix and couldn’t. And now it is a bummer for everyone who has ever cared about the franchise in any respect except those who profit from this, enjoy unnecessary drama, or are fully oblivious. :(
Today is my 15th anniversary of when I started writing publicly about the Houston Texans. Was sort of afraid to do it at the time but glad I did. Mostly for the friends I’ve met along the way. If you are one of them, this is me saying hi and thanks for being generally cool. 😎🙌

My Texas rule: Anything making a weird noise outside in the middle of the night is a chupacabra. I’m not gonna mess with it, it’s not gonna mess with me.
This is extreme understatement. I’ve watched the Texans closely since before they had a name, wrote about them since 2006. Most bizarre NFL story ever. By words and deeds, Cal McNair cares about Jack Easterby over everyone. Everyone has to work around that or leave or get fired.
Last week the Texans dismissed director of football administration Kevin Kracjcovic and equipment manager Mike Parson and his staff, amongst others. The organization is being remade and many around the league, including people there, are wondering if it is for the better.
Took this pic Hop’s rookie year. Asked him if he cared to pose as he chose, and I’d share it to fans for use in their social media avatars. This is what he chose. He had it as his avi for a while. Different times. :)
FWIW my view:
1 I want the Houston Texans to have a healthy football organization
2 I do not think it is based on known info. They think it is awesome
3 I enjoy watching Deshaun Watson play football. I want him to do it in a healthy org that does not hurt him or others
4 Fix it
The
#Texans
right now are a throw people under the bus team, publicly and privately. When you model behavior, you get that behavior. They do it because leadership is defensive, inexperienced in their new roles, and has a by committee, inconsistent incoherent football philosophy
David Culley might say that they're evaluating things, but it's kind of telling to me how many mistakes Davis Mills made that he was willing to point out. ("The receiver was right," on the intentional grounding.)
