What a busy week we have had in Nursery this week. Here are just a few of the Easter activities we have completed!
We've had to help keep the chick warm by giving him some feathers, rescue the chicks from the ice, and make some chocolate nests!
Year 1- Theatre time. Today Year 1 represented the story of Mary and Elizabeth. They worked in groups and agreed how to represent the story. Well done everyone!

Nursery have been talking about Mary this month in RE, remembering that she is the Mother of Jesus and thinking of ways to show our love for Mary. This morning we have had a mini May Procession where we crowned Mary with a crown of flowers and placed flowers around her statue
Class 5 School Council candidates have delivered their speeches today following a tricky application process! Well done to all - world leaders in the making! Voting is being held tomorrow and winners will be announced in our ‘Sangam’ assembly!

This afternoon we invited parishioners into school for a Christmas dinner. They were served by our Mini Vinnies and enjoyed their own private Christmas concert from the choir.
Working in groups this afternoon in Class 5 on renewable and non-renewable energy sources! We considered the advantages and disadvantages of some examples and shared our ideas as a class.

In Class 1, we have been learning about Andy Goldsworthy and his ability to create collages with natural materials. Today we had a go at creating our own collages. It was so much fun!
Year 4 children were serenaded yesterday by the Year 5 children who have been learning to play Mary had a little lamb. Thank you

Starting our final week before Christmas in Class 4 with some clues to find out who ate Rudolph’s carrot. Year 4 found out it was Blitzen, while Year 5 revealed the carrot thief as Cupid.

Thank you to our KS2 friends for coming down to KS1 to share a story. At St Ignatius, everyone have a turn to use the library to read a book. It is lovely to see how all agree on the book!
Class 4 have enjoyed learning about Day of the Dead in order to write a non-chronological report.
They have asked questions about a video, undertaken research, read several texts and finally planned and drafted their report.

Class 4 had a great day at Magna Science Adventure Park exploring the Earth, Air, Fire and Water pavilions. In their Forces workshop they discovered every action has a reaction (Newton's Third Law of Motion) and developed their understanding of what powers a rocket.
A change in the weather meant a quick relocation to the hall for Class 3's PE. We used physical skills alongside team work strategies to solve problems and play games. We talked about what it means to be part of a team and how successful teams communicate with each other.
Learning takes many forms in our classroom. This afternoon a mixture of bar models and number lines were used to add proper fractions and mixed numbers.

In Class 5, we have come to the end of our unit on place value. To test our knowledge, we played games using rounding, ordering and comparing and negative numbers!
