I was at IIM-B during the 2009 financial recession. Days before our summer placements, Lehman went down (it was the largest recruiter prev. summer). So this isn’t surprising. Also, I hope the students are told that this is a small blip; things turn out fine in the long run. 1/n

As of last week, ~30 students of IIM-Bangalore were still seeking internships.
IIMs are in this pickle for the same reason B-schools are struggling with placements—quality recruiters have become a rare commodity.

While it’s hard to estimate where India 1 lives, I would guess 40-50% of India1 lives in tier 2 and 3 cities. For eg, Surat & Ludhiana are among the top 10 cities of luxury car sales. So, it’s good to include a tier 2 city during a product’s PMF journey to avoid metro bias. 3/n

This is an exciting milestone for the Ather community. Cumulatively, the community has effectively planted 1 Million trees. So another million milestone besides the number of trips :-)
We hit 1M rides per day today! Cumulatively, Ather owners rode a total distance of 937 Mn kms till date saving over Rs. 200 crore in fuel. This also contributed to over 28000 tons of net CO2 emissions saved which is equivalent of planting 2000 hectares of forest!!

I would consider our start-up ecosystem has arrived when we have many people working in breakthrough tech and deep-tech areas. The ones with high tech risk and take patience to build and perfect. I am working for one of those rare Indian start-ups.
More should be comfortable with the idea of building than we are. We are still very afraid.
Many would still rather acquire tech than build it.
Very few entrepreneurs want to bet on tech breakthroughs.
Even fewer want to build a brand.

We poured our hearts into this new app for most of the year. Made the UI adaptive to real life context, personalized to the owner's scooter color choice, built a token system from ground up, and got to introduce more connectivity features.
