Former Texas Tech quarterback Tyler Shough (
@tylershough2
) is transferring to Louisville, he told ESPN. Shough, 24, will be a seventh-year senior who turns 25 next year. He’s played at both Oregon and Texas Tech since starting his college career in 2018.
I could not be happier for the Raiders players, and I don't want to be a hater, but sparking up a stogie after beating Tommy DeVito is objectively hilarious
More about free-agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore reaching an agreement in principle with the Minnesota Vikings on a one-year deal worth up to $10 million that includes $7 million guaranteed:
Rams rookie class:
Puka Nacua - 1,445 receiving yards, 29 yards shy of the rookie record
Kobie Turner - 9 sacks as an interior defender, leads all rookies
Byron Young - 7 sacks, t-2nd among rookies with Will Anderson Jr.
None taken with a top 75 pick
The Lions signed David Montgomery and Alex Anzalone to 3/$18M deals and then drafted a running back and off-ball LB with Top 20 picks
Just a nonsensical approach rn

WR Calvin Ridley on his age:
I’m 29 on paper, but I’m really 25 in real life. Part of it is those two years off. But y’all are gonna see… I’m 25 in real life.
Julian Edelman would be retiring at 34 with 6,822 total receiving yards
Jerry Rice had 6,518 receiving yards from the age of 35 and on, including his age 35 season in which he played one game
Jared Goff did his fake so well after handing the ball off that Darnell Taylor thought he had a huge sack. But he actually got one of the latest hits you'll ever see lol
“I grew up with the idea that you play good defense, run the ball, control field position on special teams, and you’re gonna win... you’re not gonna win anything now doin that”

star RB Ezekiel Elliott to a 1-year deal worth up to $6M after his successful FA visit earlier in camp, per me and
@TomPelissero
. Some backfield help for NE and a new home for Zeke… who plans to rock his No. 15 from college.
2016: trade up in 1st for Leonard Floyd
2017: trade up in 1st for Mitchell Trubisky
2018: trade up in 2nd for Anthony Miller
Quite the impressive stretch of wasted draft capital
The cap is fake but also the Packers and Chiefs are trading the top two wide receivers in the NFL with arguably the two best QBs in the league on their rosters
Craziest aspect of Amari Cooper's 265-yard day...
211 yards came through the air. He didn't break off screens for 80 yard gains, he got open at the intermediate & deep levels & Joe Flacco uncorked it
211 receiving yards thru the air is the most in the PFF database (since 2006)
Ryan Poles getting brought in by the Chicago Bears in 2008 as a UDFA, not making the 53-man roster, and becoming in charge of the 53-man roster less than 15 years later is an epic storyline
Was gonna post yesterday, but April Fools is a dumb holiday. Anyway...
This is my last week at PFF.
Wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone that has supported my work over the years, can't even begin to express how grateful I am for the support and quality conversation
Roquan Smith wants $20M+ per year and Ryan Poles smartly understands that makes zero sense for a team that still needs to build out an offense, plus needs major edge rush help
Winners of the deadline
The Packers letting Trubisky go off on Sunday in an effort to convince Chicago to extend him to a Bortles-esque contract would be the smartest long-term move for the franchise iwbh
Every hypothetical trade for 1.01 is more unrealistic than the last. It’s January 5th.

Packers sophomore left tackle Rasheed Walker, the No. 250 pick in 2022:
- Back-to-back pass block grades of 75.0+
- 0 pressures allowed on True Pass Sets (only tackle with 25+ TPS snaps and 0 pressures allowed)
Packers may have done it again
The Colts-Eagles trade summary:
Colts received: Carson Wentz
Eagles received: Top-20 pick, 3rd rd pick, $103M in cap relief
Eagles made the playoffs, the Colts did not 👀
Stat that doesn't even seem real.
Giants DI Dexter Lawrence was credited with 40 quarterback pressures in 2022 when lined up as a 0 or 1 technique...
The next highest was 13
Top 5 easiest remaining strength of schedule according to PFF ELO:
1. Buccaneers
2. Jaguars
3. Vikings
4. Dolphins
5. Eagles
Could be five playoff teams
D.J. Moore
Keenan Allen
Cole Kmet
Gerald Everett
Three back committee w/ D’Andre Swift
Average OL with two iOL upgrades, swing tackle upgrade
Good, young defense
No. 9 overall pick
It’s going to be different this time. Drop in the Heisman winning phenom, prosper.
Not gonna do a final mock in my new role, but I will say this
The league has never done this good of a job keeping things under wraps... we're getting chaos tonight
The
#Chiefs
canceled all team activities today after a backup defensive lineman had a seizure in a special teams meeting and went into cardiac arrest, per sources.
The team’s medical staff worked quickly, an ambulance was called and the player is currently in stable condition.
One year ago today, we were all discussing how the Eagles threw a game
As a result, the Eagles jumped from pick No. 10 to No. 6
They added a 2022 1st-round pick from Miami because of draft position
And they made the playoffs the next season
Guess it didn't destroy the culture
Greatest Chicago Bears QB achievements all-time:
1. 1940's phenom Sid Luckman is 2nd all-time in career yards per attempt at 8.4
2. Russell Wilson included Chicago on a list of 4 teams he would waive his no-trade clause to go to
~fin~
$25.3M total (plus losing a net 2nd and 4th) for one season each of Robert Woods and Julio Jones
Less than 1,000 combined receiving yards, 3 total touchdowns
Coulda paid AJB with that 🥴
D.J. Moore helps Justin Fields attack the intermediate area of the field, an area he did well targeting in 2022:
- Fields led NFL with a 66.7% completion percentage on throws 10-19 yards downfield
- D.J. Moore's 172 targets 10-19 yards downfield from 2019-22 is 2nd-most in NFL
Dolphins 5-game win streak in large part due to top 3 draft picks:
Jaylen Waddle - 86 receptions (most by rookie WR thru Week 13 since 2006)
Jaelan Phillips - 8.5 sacks (5th-most by rookie edge thru Week 13 since 2006)
Jevon Holland - 81.6 grade, 4th-best among all safeties
Bears OC Bill Lazor - who will be calling plays on offense tonight - is from Scranton, Pennsylvania and went to Cornell (ever heard of it?)
The Bears offensive plays tonight are being called by Andy Bernard
Cannot wait for this next chapter, entering the arena and battling at the negotiating table for players is a lifelong dream…
We’re building something special at
@gcsportsmgmt
, know that 100%.
Congratulations to a great friend, Brad Spielberger (
@PFF_Brad
), who is leaving PFF after a tremendous run to become the Director of Football Administration at Grand Central Sports Management (
@gcsportsmgmt
). He will crush it.
Justin Fields had six (6!) Big Time Throws after first round of grading.
He now leads all rookie QBs with 14 on the season (his 7.5% BTT rate is way ahead). Trubisky had 13 BTTs in 2017 on nearly twice as many attempts.
Also,,, keep an eye out for Fields' grade tomorrow👀
You’re letting the guy that grossly overpaid for Mike Glennon, Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles select the quarterback of the future
I feel like I’m going insane
We really may have finally achieved the Chicago sports sweep
Fans are currently outright disgusted with the Chicago White Sox, Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks, and Bulls
Lamar Jackson’s 89.6 passing grade was the top mark among QBs in Week 12
He had 3 Big Time Throws to 0 Turnover Worthy Plays, with his receivers credited with 5 drops (tied for the most drops in a game this season by any team)
11.2 yards per attempt in second half with 4 drops
In all the years I’ve been doing this, I’ve never seen a player fall off like that and not recover from a horrible game. The clubs interested have to find out why it happened and is their cause for concern that it could happen again. Again, very concerning
One sleep away, we did it.

Because the next few months are gonna be a nightmare, getting this outta the way.
- Love JF1. Loved the pick, believe in his ability, think he was put in one of the worst situations ever in 2021/22
- There are different ways to win at QB in today's NFL
- Team culture/locker
Is there a Vikings fan contingent that thinks this trade is so Minnesota can add two top 25 pick pieces to build around Sam Darnold?
Or is that only a thing for another NFC North team
Exclusive details on the Lloyd Cushenberry deal with the Tennessee Titans:
- $50M over 4 years ($12.5M APY, 3rd among C)
- $26M fully guaranteed at signing, $30M total
- $30M cash flow over two years - most ever for a center
More:
Hearing from multiple sources that Broncos CB Bryce Callahan is a player to monitor for a potential trade, would be a VERY hot commodity if cut
Bears among interested teams
Jets GM Joe Douglas was Chicago's Director of College Scouting in 2015 when Callahan signed as an UDFA
There’s no question the Bears unequivocally failed Justin Fields…
That can’t drive the decision here though, unfortunately. Goes to one of the most stable and consistent organizations in the NFL, hope he balls out
