@AnClaiomhSolais @thejournal_ie You do know that ALL maintenance payments are excluded from social welfare assessment. Probably best not to show your ignorance around this!

@2Otoole4School @AnClaiomhSolais @thejournal_ie Really, you should get your fact right. The most recent ESRI report showed only 38% of Fathers regularly pay maintenance, that 62% of Dads having an easy ride!

@HannaghMc @baldoyle55 @SVP_Ireland It is an archaic system that completely misses the point that children suffer, if the state does not enforce responsibility onto an absent parent.

41% of children in 1 parent families experience deprivation. Majority of homeless families are lone parents, yet still we have no effective enforcement of child maintenance. Not paying child maintenance can be part of financial abuse and child neglect.

"That people could have perceived" - the little people just don't understand! Don't forget in 2016, when it was revealed she chose to drive the scenic to the Dail, thus pocketing an extra €80k in expenses over 5 years. She claimed she was also technically within the rules then.

Some sobering facts as the new govt start negotiating a new PfG. #Homelessness figures released today show A. 50% increase in homelessness in last govt. term. B. A net increase of 553 homeless children in last year. C. A net increase of 1685 people in last year. #HomelessFigures

220,000 children are experiencing deprivation. It would have cost €140m to give children in poorest families an extra weekly payment, but instead €340m was given to all children. If you don't need it, consider donating to charities helping families. @FocusIreland @SVP_Ireland

Remember being shocked when the number of homeless children first broke 1k? Since the last election, the increase alone in the number of homeless children is 1,111, and there are now 4,645 children without a home. Make sure you use your vote to end this. #Election2024
