Another moving community led vigil was held tonight at Belfairs Park in memory of Sir David Amess.
Cllr Alan Dear of Belfairs ward led the tributes saying he was a “gentleman and would be greatly missed.”
The lights on Southend seafront will remain blue in honour of the carers in our community who are doing such a fantastic job.
The decision has been made to keep the lights blue as a small gesture to all those on the frontline delivering much needed care.
We're urging local people to stay at home and visitors not to visit at the current time, to protect lives and local NHS.
As part of this we're closing all seafront car parks and bays from midnight tonight. Please follow the rules and stay safe.
