I’ve made sourdough for so long and still sometimes see my dough in the AM and am like oh man this didn’t go as planned. I always shape, proof, and bake it anyway, and you know what even an over hydrated loaf of bread is better than store bought. Those loaves are also great to use for bread pudding.

In winter on extra cold nights, I often use my seed germinating mats to make a cozy bubble around my sourdough as it rises to give it hand. Never had a kitchen that maintains the same temperature.

@tallowqueen Thank you for this- I forgot I hid a bucket of earth yum treats left over from Halloween that didn’t get used. We will be using them now for kids around the neighborhood for 💝

My daughter’s Valentines for her nature school friends and teachers- miniature jars filled with wildflower seeds. Adorable. She’s obsessed with miniature things.

@zentheos_ Some of the best postpartum wisdom comes from those places. Warm cup of jujube tea and a bowl of congee postpartum is really great nourishing medicine. I’m now wondering why I haven’t been having these regularly in life.

I got a Japanese style beef curry going this morning- winged most of it -made it similar to the way I would make a beef stew. I used 3 grated apples for extra sweetness to go with the ginger, curry, and garlic, per the kare raisu way. My littles are loving it.

I plant a lot of parsley seeds every year, and what’s so neat about parsley is they go to seed the second year (biannual) and if you have as planted as many I have, those seeds end up falling and making tons of new plants. The past couple days I’ve been gently digging up healthy ones and planting them in my stacked containers. I love planting a lot of parsley for many reasons but one special reason is bc I love swallowtails and they love parsley.

2 kids, 5&6 100% vax free 0 ear infections, 0 allergies, 0 autoimmune issues, 0 RXs & antibiotics, 0 learning disabilities, no doc visits since the regular pediatrician check ups as babies, they have had 3 pretty awful flu type things, the worst ones being this past year. The past two left an awful cough that lasted 3 weeks- I suppose it could have been a respiratory infection, but cleared up without any doc intervention. Also a couple gnarly stomach bugs, but those were quick to pass.

Looks similar to Thai Roselle, but the flower is much larger, no calyxes- very different.
