The story behind this is someone I was on good terms with gave me the silent treatment with no explanation, would not communicate with me when I asked if they were mad at me, it put me on edge and so I made this goofy vent comic at 2 am.

It's also memorability and being easier to draw. The only anime character I can think of that has transcended cultural barriers is Goku, meanwhile you see kids all the way in Africa drawing Homer Simpson, Spongebob, Peter Griffin, etc.
