The following thread is a response I gave to a muslim guy who seemed genuine in his questions about Christ:
The tweet in question asked who died on the cross. We say God died on the cross.
Now you ask, how can the Holy Immortal, who exists by His own necessity, die?
@sasukeslawyer
@PopCrave
how can anyone "rent" someone else's womb and buy their child as if children are a commodity to buy for your ego. This entire ordeal should be illegal
@kirkins
@exAtheistRCC
Santa has roots in St Nicholas celebrations.
There is this weird prot distinction people make, where any folklore, custom, or tradition that isn't explicitly in the Bible is deemed as folk paganism, as if thats what how any of this works. Swedes believing in tomte isn't paganism
@Cazonci98
Yeah I saw this idea years ago when I was doubting, and took it to heart. The most satanic thing you can do is trying to get someone to stop praying because of their sinful state. Our Patriarchs and saints literally advice against it, and it goes against God's mercy
@V3dn3y
@sasukeslawyer
@PopCrave
well we can't all get what we want. Children aren't the new accessory for gay couples that have grown disillusioned with chihuahuas. We are discussing ethics here, not what people might want
@InspiringPhilos
Don't we punish murderers and molesters? Don't we punish thiefs and scammers? The state already enforces laws based on morals we consider universal, and God's moral law is universal.
I am not a Christian nationalist, but a state employing Christian morals is nothing wrong.
@araprek
They still have no issues desecrating images of Him that depict Him in His divinity. Idk why y'all are suddenly using this argument when muslim vandalism against churches of this kind is very old news, even if this particular event may be fake.

@smashbaals
Worth every penny
Also not every church has to be St Peters. Most beautiful churches aren't St Peters. It was meant to be a unique landmark for the most important cathedral in Rome.
@MsUngovernable
Do you even know what Mother Theresa was doing in Calcutta, or are you of some impression that she intended to run a hospital without medicines?
@TrueOishiSmell
Muslims were sharing this fake and photoshopped photo with the reverse statement. The best way to stop misinformation is not to spread it further by deboonking, but by flipping it on itself and using against them.
Didn't realise Christians were just as gullible as muslims tho
@Maximumatheist
@Iam8lu3
Ah yes, the business of living in poverty, wandering from city to city, and facing persecution and martyrdom. Every apostle but one were martyred, and the last died in prison. The Apostolic fathers were martyred. Millions of Christians were murdered under Diocletian alone

@TrueSlazac
Stalin gave the land to Azerbaijan deliberately, and they held their referendum while under Soviet rule, which stated that they had the right to sesession.
Nobody should be forced to live under oppression or erasure under a foreign state.
@smilehoya97
@moonyslovebott
Yes this is very consoling for Assyrians who have fled their ancestral homeland because muslims attack them and their churches in Iraq, and for Armenians who have fled Artsakh, and for Copts who can't celebrate a single holiday without a church being attacked by muslims
One sesame seed from the tongue of St Stephen took root in the heart of St Paul, and grew, and the Tree of Paradise received her thirteenth Apostle
The saints came in pairs
and the flame of one, set the other alight - with the flames of God's love
it's amazing how truly Egyptian the Prince of Egypt managed to depict Ramses. Down to the expressions. There are like 20 balding amos who look like this at the local Coptic parish

Even if there might be individual cases of women who are willing to go through pregnancy and then give up their child after delivery, it doesn't change that this whole ordeal lends itself to trafficking and prostitution and putting women in compromised situations through this
@dswounds
@mbrktho
Yes, because the middle class constantly feel the need to prove themselves through pretension. The working classes know their place, and aristocracy view their status as habitual. Only the middle class are insufferably aspirational. You find it in everything they do.
When people praise you for being good Christians, don't take credit for yourself, but only say "Glory be to God". The only thing we can claim as our own is our sins.
@redeemed_zoomer
When we Syriac Orthodox came to Europe, we collected money to buy storage facilities to turn them into churches, and our parishioners and priests turned these humble and often ugly walls into heavenly palaces. We bought a former baptist church and turned it into a beauty

They hire an art critic who is in on the game and ask him to value a painting in their collection. They value it the amount needed. They then donate the painting to a museum and write it off as a donation. You don't tax donations
When God the Word took on flesh from the Virgin Mary, the divine hypostasis united with the human hypostasis (flesh and soul) and became one composite hypostasis, both fully divine and fully human:
@InspiringPhilos
Lol none of those are christian ideas. We find God's eternal moral law all over the Bible, and the fathers comment on it, and nowhere is it the American constitute. Also, most people derive what morals they find normal after what's legal rather than the other way around
Hey guys it’s ok to say “baptism is good and children should be baptized, but I also trust that God holds and comforts the souls of children who depart before baptism.”
@femibased
They do that a lot. They will say something that insights provocation or spreads lies, when you respond they block you, post screenshots of your tweets for ages behind the block, act like victims, and/or show their true colours in how they view their neighbours.

There is no Christian option in US politics
At least Trump picked some decent supreme court justices that could ensure fewer baby murders in some states.
Eating, drinking, and dying are proper to humanity, while raising the dead and forgiving sins are proper to divinity, yet we do not say that only the human nature ate, drank, or died, but that God the Word did this Himself, even if in His flesh.
@Maximumatheist
@Iam8lu3
... And there is. Not only the Bible but also the Apostolic fathers and the bishops that descended from them, not to mention all the other fringe cultic groups that were inspired by the Jesus figure for their philosophies. You wouldn't need to seethe about us otherwise.
@drvineetgovinda
@greentexts_bot
that's because the truth potions can be overcome, which is why they aren't used in their court hearings. It creates false negatives. Rowling just wanted some interesting concepts for her books
@banterwithb
Funny how they use Our Lord as the standard by which they judge their Antichrist. Almost as if their entire existence is a ressentiment towards Christ...
As such when we say that God died on the cross we do not say that divinity died, but rather that the incarnate full divinity of God the Son allowed the human soul He possessed (through being a human), to depart from the flesh he took on at the incarnation.

They could have ran literally any business for any mystic cult and syncretised it with roman paganism to get approval if they really wanted to run a business.
When I first got my twitter account, the pandemic was still new and uncertain, and I was a med school drop out with zero plans on ever returning.
Now I can no longer call myself a med student. I did it! I'm a boctor now
Exorcist: "Hey demon! What do you love?"
Demon: "e-thots in belly shirts and buttshorts with NO VEIL who take COMMUNION IN THE HAND!"
Exorcist: "What do you hate?"
Demon: "TLM according to the pre-1962 missal of Pius XII, with Pius X modifications to daily office"
It's settled.
@fool2theworld
He wept when Lazarus died. Did the death of a friend catch God off guard?
Twitter already went through this stupid debate once last year. It's ironic how popular Apollinarism is among some of you
@Minna613
God rewarded you by removing from you kingdom, prophets, priesthood, temple, and sacrifice. He lets you linger and wandering Earth like Cain until the Day of Judgement as a sign and reminder for Christians of the veracity of His covenant with Israel the Church
Possessing the properties of both natures simultaneously, while He Himself being one and undivided. Actions done may, in thought, be distinguished as proper to either nature, but since Christ is one, they are all attributed to Him and not divided or ascribed to either nature.
Is there a single reason why Armenians haven't stormed their government officials buildings and hanged Pashiniyan and his men yet? It's getting more embarrassing than the recent 2 wars.
For the first time since Armenia’s independence, the Public Television Company of Armenia will not broadcast the address of His Holiness the Patriarch on New Year’s Eve.
Traditionally, His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenian’s message would
In your charity, please pray for the soul of a woman who died alone in her home unexpectedly. I can't share her name on twitter, but just mention her in your prayers.
I will also use an analogy of glowing iron: Glowing iron is the metal united to fire. As you beat the glowing iron you are reshaping the metal, but the fire remains unchanged and doesn't depart from it.

It is a problem that all your personal info is considered public in Sweden. Many abuse victims who have to go through an entire process with courts just to keep their new addresses they are hiding in from their abusers. This is a problem with or without the gangs
The composite incarnate nature did not separate into separate natures or hypostases, not even in death or resurrection. As such the human soul, itself united to divinity, departed from his animated flesh, also united to His divinity, ...
@MedWhiteAcolyte
Way to miss the entire point. You guys refused allyship with the pope at the expense of what you believe, and the Orthodox Christians did the same to you. By this point your church had already tried to create paralel patriarchates in the ancient sees as well.
@glumirror
You have the entire world outside to strut around naked in. When you enter someone's house, you respect their rules. Men aren't allowed into churches with shorts either.
@ClassicalTheis
And to some extent, modern Rabbinic Judaism is defined as a negation of Christ. They identify as non Christians. Their existence is resentment towards the triumph of the Messiah that they tried to murder.
and as such his flesh died while the divine Son was still upholding all Creation, even from the grave. The soul entered Sheol but Sheol could not contain Him because He is God. He brought the dead souls out of Sheol to Paradise.
Thus we say that by His death he conquered/killed death, bringing all those in the grave to eternal life.
On the third day His soul returned to His body, and thus He restored Human nature as to that before the fall, and even more glorified:
I noticed this in my church, but after experience I have concluded that it's because people don't pay attention to everyday saints. Nobody is canonising that old lady who prayed everyday regardless of all miracles her acquaintances attributed to her and her prayers
@OgbeniDemola
"trade purposes with the Roman Empire" which was still persecuting Christians at the time Ethiopia adopted Christianity as state religion
as the bodies we will have at the resurrection will be incorruptible and immortal.
Now you ask: what does it mean that divinity never parted from humanity, upholding creation even from the grave? Is that not contradiction?
I respond that Christ is fully human and fully divine, possessing the properties of both. His flesh became inanimate, as ours does at death, but divinity does not die.
As Christ is also God, we can say that just as God, the Uncreated Necessary Being, was born of the Virgin - as this is true about Him according to the flesh He took on - we can in likewise manner say that God died on the cross.
