You gotta be joking me. Bedrock has had the record item component since 1.16.100, and we can only play vanilla sounds. But Java gets this component and the ability for custom sounds in one update? Seriously?
With the latest Java snapshot, jukebox songs are now completely data-driven. This is done through an item component where you can make any item play a song in a Jukebox, and you can also add your own unique songs to your data packs.
Really happy I got a chance to work on this <3

I think creating artificial scarcity is bad. Mojang should do everything in their power to reduce it. Those with rare items are more at risk of getting their accounts hacked. If you want uniqueness, then Mojang should give us the ability to create our own cape designs like skins.
The new minecraft capes are fine and all, but what made capes cool in the first place was their scarcity, if everyone has one they don't quite feel as unique and rare anymore.
Wish they never added migrator capes or anything else similar

Man...seeing Java creators say "Bedrock FINALLY has mods" is kind of disappointing. Just goes to show how bad Mojang has been at advertising 3rd party add-ons(like from mcpedl). Java players thinking add-ons are brand new when they've been around since 2020 is...sad

Just realized, Mojang in 2020 was working to release 1.16, prototyping 1.17, worked on Legends, Creator API, Editor, and Bedrock UI. After 3 years we're finally seeing the fruits of their labour.

So, about the recipe files...I was too focused on the render folder that I didn't fully notice the changes. The recipes now have a new field, unlock. Recipe unlock may be coming in 1.20.10

Really hoping that Mojang expands on subpack configurability because just a slider isn't really helpful! It would be cool to have toggles and dropdowns as well so we can mix and match combos! Especially useful for deferred rendering packs!

We seriously need a better alternative to MCPEDL for Bedrock. MCPEDL just reallowed linkvertise🤮to be used in their sites. A lot of submissions will now use them so expect downloading an add-on from their site to be a worse experience now.

Just a rant, but the Bedrock technical changelog section is so badly written. We often have to wait for the MS Docs to be updated so it is further elaborated. In the meantime we're left brute forcing and trying to reverse engineer them.
