Russians also use some shared aspects in slavic cultures and languages as justification for their imperialism. While we are either ignored by Russia or just forgotten by the westeners.

@lillyphea @hexprax I'd feel bad if my sister or a friend carried my kid, and I didn't at least cover all of their expenses for the duration of the surrogacy. Like living expenses and any potential lost income. Feels like the right thing to do since they are doing such a significant thing for me.

@lillyphea @hexprax I linked a study that explains it better than I can in a tweet. But I wasn't talking about what they are paid for the surrogacy but what they were earning independently of it and in that department they are in the higher earning brackets. So most aren't doing it for the money.

@fightback1917 @slashie973 @darlingube @hexprax Well, that is what surrogacy looks like the vast majority of the time in well developed countries. When it comes to surrogate mothers from underdeveloped nations, then yeah, that's exploitative, but generally, that's not what surrogacy looks like.
