@andrewjroger @ThePlantCell But that would mean every extant taxon is (at least part of) an early-diverging lineage, in which case, what does it tell us? I’m cool with… the Amborella lineage is early-diverging from the rest of the angiosperms. Not a fan of Amborella is an early-diverging angiosperm.
