Party discipline is generally so rigid in New Brunswick that disagreeing with a motion to adjourn the house may be viewed by some as a revolt or a rebellion causing an election. This is very silly and not an accurate reflection of the constitutional order. #nbpoli

@legalstyleblog @LagasseSubstack @GreenBeltTory The letters patent require the GG to seek permission from the King via the PM to leave Canada. I don't think there is any constitutional impediment for the King to leave Canada.

@legalstyleblog @LagasseSubstack @GreenBeltTory I forgot that the Queen opened the st Lawrence seaway. Here is the Queen of Canada in Massena New York in 1959.

@LagasseSubstack @GreenBeltTory Has the King ever gone on a foreign trip on advice of a Canadian Prime Minister (besides Vimy Ridge commemorations?)

Historically in New Brunswick, it was prohibited to sell liquor on election day. #nbpoli

Leave is granted. A declaratory power case will be heard by the supreme Court of Canada!

@KyleThomson333 There is a distinction between maintaining provincial jurisdiction over a matter and relaxing the regulations governing the sale of interprovincial liquor.

@EScrimshaw @Prominent_Bryan Parliament is scheduled to be summoned on March 24. However, nothing prevents a PM from advising the GG to summon Parliament earlier.

@JoshDehaas @JamesManson6263 In reality at the federal level, the maximum length of prorogation is greatly reduced to a matter of months as a consequence of needing to pass Supply. Special warrants (rightfully) cannot be used during prorogation. GG must ensure that the government can fund itself.
