A simple rule of thumb regarding the compensation of any job, IT or not:
You'll get paid more if your role/function is in a profit center as rather than a cost center.
honestly it depends. depends on where you apply, what skills you have, how good you are, and many more
i have many friends who are fresh grads yang dapat high paying jobs due to how good they are and also the companies they go for

1. Learnt from all sorts of free online resources.
2. Got involved with fancy tech-adjacent projects in my old non-tech role.
3. Built publicly and wrote about them online.
