I just watched @vicpdcanada give an escort to a non-permitted, hate march through downtown Victoria. They physically blocked counterprotestors who were on the Government pedestrian mall, contrary to Supreme Court of Canada 2019 Fleming case that categorically holds that police can’t arrest counter protestors simply because they anticipate conflict. There was going to be no conflict. The police chose a side today. @TristinHopper @nationalpost
