We love our morphology lessons using the Morphology Project resources. Students form words using word matrices & apply suffixing conventions. They then pair-share to explain word meanings based on their knowledge of the individual morphemes. Vocab & spelling ✅

To assist those wish to use these resources next year, there will be some short videos uploaded on the website over the school hols with some key information and FAQs. Approx 1.5 hrs of content - so you could use in staff meetings/ Development Days.
Finishing touches for our Kindy information session tomorrow . Our 2024 kindy students have had 6 months of weekly Kindy readiness sessions and are buzzing with excitement to officially start at Serpentine PS.
Lessons are being added every week thanks to teachers working on content in their own time. The Reading Science in Schools (RSIS) and Serpentine PS scope and sequence has been used as a basis for other projects in Australia.

Today, at

, we announced Compass, a reliable and comprehensive resource that provides direction for educators, those working with emergent bilinguals, administrators, educator preparation programs, & policymakers/state education agencies.
Over the next few weeks, the leaders and Serpentine PS and Greenfields PS will be finalising the sequence for our knowledge & literature units for 2024, which are taught within our English block.
We are so excited to welcome Zoei Nixon to Serpentine PS as Deputy Principal from 2024 onwards. Zoei comes to a Serpentine with significant leadership and instructional coaching experience. She is currently an instructional leader at Challis Primary School.
