Aerith's true fans accept, that she and Cloud are not real, and above all they have no chemistry. If it were a "true love" they would both have mutual feelings for each other, but oh surprise: they don't. They don't even after Cloud is finally his true self

This. Zack isn’t the main character it’s as simple as that. People look silly trying to put Zack on this pedestal when he’s just a supporting character. He’s not in the retrilogy to be the 2nd protagonist, he’s there to help Cloud in Clouds story, like his role has always been.
At the end of it all, the main reason why LOVELESS cannot be about Zack is because Cloud is the MAIN character and NOT Zack. Rebirth is not making a LOVELESS play for a character who isn't central to the CURRENT story. LOVELESS during Crisis Core may have been about Zack and Genesis and Angeal, but we are now in FF7 Remake and NOT Crisis Core. The LOVELESS play in Rebirth therefore foreshadows the CURRENT story of Cloud. I don't know why people are so hang up in making Zack central to everything. He had a role to play, and that was to be Cloud's savior. Now it's Cloud's story. Even Zack asks Cloud to take care of Aerith, he knows his role is OVER. 🤣
