I've always been a trophy hunter even before games were friendly to trophy hunters and there was no game+ where you can just replay previous chapters. Oh, and even before they even gave you trophies and all you just get is the satisfaction of achieving something NO ONE will ever see. 🤣🤣🤣 So I guess I am not a trophy hunter, more like, achievement obsessed. 🤣🤣🤣 But you are right, some games do not require you to get all endings. It all depends on the game. Still not a way to recognize canon.

I guess it all boils down to romantic perspective. As long as you do not present such views as the ultimate truth, I respect that. But I think people have different views on romance. To me, anyone can be sexually appealling to each other without "love" being involved. Hence, romantic is to me more a dynamic of good interactions, understanding, and discovery. In all honestly, I cannot understand at all how they can be viewed as platonic in anyway, but I get that some people have a different view. I just wonder if guys are okay with their girl doing what Aerith does with Cloud and say, "it's fine, he's just her friend." 🤔

Let me get this straight, you say his feelings are ambiguous. I can get with that. Hence, to you, wether Cloud actually liked Aerith's attention and is just pretending to be a tough guy or he actually doesn't like it and tries to push her away because of it, is ambiguous? Or are you arguing for one over the other?

Actually, wrong. Cloud asks if she still LIKES Zack and she confirms there is no reason not to. This after she says Zack never communicated with her for 5 years and states that he probably has many girls. If a girl has no reason to dislike a guy despite that... there is some doubt on what type of like that is. She also tells Cloud she LIKES him. Marlene tells Zack that Aerith REALLY LIKES Cloud. In park date she also says Zack is the first person she LIKED. Basically, Aerith never said she LOVED anyone. And then she asks Cloud "What kind of LIKE this is?". Crazy right? Basically, if we just go by words, who Aerith likes romantically can be iffy (not including the GS). BUT, action speaks LOURDER than words. In the battle with Sephiroth, Aerith can be anywhere and everywhere. This is proven by the fact that she even heals Zack. But she didn't show up to fight with him. Aerith could have also shown up with Zack in a dream date the same way she did with Cloud. But no. So that answers the question.

Not taking into account the bad behavior of its fans, this entire claim of CC being universally beloved is a fallacy. Just go into forums from 13+ years ago. A huge percentage of OG fans hated the compilation. Some thought of it as mid at best, but mostly people bought it because it was attached to the highly popular FF7 game.

@seashellsnstars If you just go into forums and such, you will see how much hate CC gets and its not from cleriths. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Hmmm... I do know though that a lot of CC and ZA fans don't even like Aerith that much. They hate how she is not content with the wagons and how you need to impress her with perfumes. And I do totally understand their dislike. I think that whatever dating sim they placed in CC was just awful. It's worse than old Harvestmoon games where you gift girls apples and potatoes to gain their affection. They just really love Zack and unfortunately for them, he didn't have any other real candidates in the game so they cling to Aerith.
