Update on Republic of Singapore Air Force F-16C crash: simultaneous failure of pitch rate gyroscopes; 4 on each jet. Said to b very rare occurrence. My sources tell me 3 such events in entire life of fleet of all F-16s.
Detailed investigations by
@TheRSAF
and Lockheed Martin have determined the cause of the accident. The pitch rate gyroscopes of the crashed F-16 gave erroneous inputs to the flight control computer, which led to the pilot being unable to control the plane at take-off.

S’pore navy’s crack Naval Diving Unit has its namesake too. HMS = Hull Mock-up System.

異次元の矢勢なので弓と言うより、銃を撃ってるような感覚。起源は十字軍のクロスボウの矢を射返したイスラム軍とも言われている
秀吉の朝鮮侵攻の際、朝鮮軍(秘密兵器だった)から捕獲して日本側が一部使用したが、すでに鉄炮があったのでその後はあまり普及しなかった

July 1992: Japanese 🇯🇵guided missile destroyer, Amatsukaze (DDG-163), in Singapore with Hatsuyuki, Mineyuki & Asayuki as part of a long standing practice of summer sea training cruises to Southeast Asia. Mineyuki was the 1st JMSDF ship I visited.

In Singapore this evening, d Republic of Singapore Air Force Northrop F-5 Tiger community gathered to mark 45 years since d fighter jet was introduced into RSAF service. A highlight was d launch of a commemorative book. Am happy to have pre-ordered a copy!

Singapore’s Hunter AFV can’t swim compared to Poland’s Borsuk 🙁
Same width as Borsuk IFV but shorter at 6.9m vs B’s 7.6m. And H is heavier 29.5 tonnes vs B’s 28 tonnes.
Ability to swim confers many tactical advantages + less reliance on bridge layers.

Republic of Singapore Air Force Hawker Hunter with a non-standard sensor payload in d gun bay recovers at Paya Lebar AB in d 90s. Hunters were acquired in 1970 as d RSAF's 1st fighter plane. D fighter/ground-attack jets were retired in d 1990s. Several still fly in private hands.
