@angelus_da55800 @Danomite_Dan Agreed, I think so too. Well, also I really have nothing to complain about if Cloud finally gets to find Aerith in the Promised Land this time.

Alright, that’s a fair point. But still, I don’t believe someone has truly moved on if they choose to stay right next to the church where they met their most cherished person. And they also never confirmed his relationship status with Tifa. But anyway, I think we can drop it here. You have your perspective, and I have mine. As long as there’s no official statement, neither of us is wrong. But Advent Children isn’t a happy ending, not for Cloud and not for Tifa. In fact, it’s a pretty sad ending. So I don’t think they’re going to go through that again.

@Danomite_Dan @angelus_da55800 Yes, I think we can agree on that. 😂 Tho, judging from where the story is heading, I think we might finally get a clear answer in part 3.

‘Moved on’ doesn’t necessarily mean he moved on emotionally, just physically he moved on with his life. Are you really going to argue over one phrase in Ultimania while ignoring the fact that there’s an entire book, written by the author himself, emphasizing how miserable he is after Advent Children? Your proof is ambiguous and open to multiple interpretations, but the book isn’t. It explicitly tells you that he hasn’t moved on and that his life is, in fact, a mess.

@Danomite_Dan @angelus_da55800 Well, true, but the only thing we actually learn from the dialogue is that the Promised Land is indeed a place, nothing more. There’s still no clear answer about where it is or what it truly is.

Alright, then how do you explain this video clip? And how do they emphasize the Promised Land across the crossovers? They give various definitions of the Promised Land, but one thing is clear: it’s specifically associated with Cloud and Aerith, and it’s where Cloud will find Aerith. They never leave that part ambiguous and always provide a clear answer.

Well, just read the novel On the Way to a Smile, basically, the entire book tells you how sad he is, how much he struggles, and how he chooses to self-isolate from Tifa. Last but not least, there isn’t a single official source stating that he has moved on since. So, it’s safe to say that he never did in the OG ending.

I don’t think they ever actually revealed what the Promised Land is. It has always seemed more like a concept rather than a physical place. Theoretically, it’s a place where only the Cetra go after they die. However, I believe its true definition is intentionally left ambiguous. But we know one thing is clear, no matter where it is, it’s the place where Cloud will find Aerith.

He has not moved on. Why do you keep denying it? He never actually moved on, and quite frankly, he probably never will in the OG ending. They always emphasize that he is searching for something. His soul was never in peace. They show you that his life is a mess after AC. If he were actually happy after the OG, I’d agree with you. But he’s not. That’s an objective fact, and it should take precedence over any theory discussion.

@Danomite_Dan @angelus_da55800 Did he? Certainly doesn’t seem like the case in “on the way to a smile”, also in all the crossover.

I guess not really. ZA was never even properly mentioned outside of CC, it feels more like a premise than an actual story. I feel like they just included ZA to develop Aerith and Cloud’s characters. I’m trying to be objective here, so it’s not like I have anything against some people shipping them.
