Big hoop fan will be covering the top games in the section 2, with a focus on the Suburban Council both boys and girls. I give my opinions, you may not agree
Watching the movie Miracle. Coach Brooks pushed his team so they could reach greatness. In the current environment of sports, players would’ve quit, parents would’ve whined and he probably would’ve been fired. Just sayin.

Beth/Green Tech game. I get why everyone is scared to mention it. But the lunatic parent in the stands who went over to confront the beth coach during the game and then waited for the coach as they left the court after game. Maybe section 2 should do better to prevent this.
To all those Suburban Council and Section 2 players that got torched by
@KevinHuerter
in your high school games. Don’t fret it. He just lit up the 76ers in game 7 of the playoffs to advance the

. Way to go Kevin. We are al so proud of you.
“Player of the Day/Twitter pic of the Day” goes to CBA big Drew Signor who scored 21 points against a tough Shaker defense led by two 6’8” players. Signor a 6’3” post player had it his way tonight.Just as impressive he held D1 prospect Cook to 10 points. Big win 4 CBA. Congrats
Don’t want to jump to conclusions. But I’ve seen too many good coaches get axed because of whiny, everyone gets a trophy parents. If this is a result of parents, then they need to be exposed. Be transparent
@LSIBasketball
This is my sleeper team for the sectionals. They have rattled off, I believe, 11 wins in a row. The only team to beat Ballston Spa and they can shoot, are big, score with threes and in the paint. Keep an eye on the
@BCEaglesHoops
Merry Christmas to all the high school student-athletes who play so hard every game and to their parents who sacrifice so their kids can have a terrific high school sports experience. We will see you in the courts. 🏀🎄

I remember Andrew playing for Guilderland. I’m very happy for his success. But what I do remember was that his parents were two of the nicest people. Happy for them too. Great career.
@DaemenAthletics
Oh what a night. It was a night of upsets and teams meeting their potential. Let’s go through it game by game. Congrats to
@NiskayunaBasket
and
@cba_bball
for showing us why we love high school hoops. Any night, it can be your night. Let’s go!!!
I’ve said it before. The biggest surprise this year is
@cbaalbany
Last year they were competitive but lost a lot of close games Not this year! They are back and now they are taking names. The only team to beat
@SaratogaSports
& this may be Doemel’s best coaching job. Kudos.
Feel horrible for all the high Schoolers that play Spring sports. Life is not fair sometimes. We miss seeing you play as much as you miss playing. Stay strong and be safe.

more than these two do. For many years, they are at all the big games giving publicity and positive vibes to all the games and student-athletes. Kudos boys and keep up the great work!! Give them a follow, if you don’t already.
#sectionals
Kudos to
@TUSidelines
for noting that some bad calls went against
@SC_Raiders
on Saturday. Colonie player Satin took a 3-pointer And a toga player reached in and fouled him. Somehow the ref called it a jump ball. Awful call and probably cost Colonie the game.
While big congrats go to
@AABoysBball
for their win. The local story is
@JG3_____
and Glens Falls. The kid stays home and gets the local high school a football & basketball State Championship. Not to mention he’s also the all time leading scorer in State history. Kudos
While we love our local hoops and can't wait until the sectionals to begin. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and families affected by the shooting in Florida. I can't imagine anyone going through that. Stay safe

and if you see something, say something.
I’m glad I’m not growing up as a teenager watching all these sports gambling shows on TV (ESPN & FOX). Just hope the kids who watch this stuff understand there’s a reason they build billion dollar casinos - it’s not because you win. Be smart.
Knowing Coach Grasso. They weren’t rejoicing, they expected to win. He was a great hire a few years back and I’m happy for the Silver Warriors.

@cbaalbany
team. Coach Doemel has them playing well together (8-1). Offense they all contribute, defensively they are tough led by Grimes and Signor. Congrats to
@cbaalbany
on topping
@SC_Raiders
at Colonie.
Funny, I always thought Huerter would be the big local star coming out of the Capital Region. I guess It just takes baseball players a little longer. Anderson is a stud. And I love Huerter. Don’t get me wrong. What a treat to have two big time players.
Too scorers, high school boys basketball. Top 5:
1) Mulhern (Duansburg)
2) Robinson (Hudson)
3) Towe (Hawthorne)

Game 2:

@ShenHoops
Tuesday night at Glens Falls.
Love this. In a time when sports is becoming “specialized” and kids only play one sport. It’s good to see kids playing multiple sports and enjoying it. The best athletes used to always play every sport. Well done.
@StillwaterCSD
Game 3: in a game with two solid squads,
@B_Spa_Athletics

Okay highs school baseball teams. Who are the players and teams to follow this spring? I will help highlight the success of our local baseball talent. But give me a start so I can keep an eye out. Good luck to all the squads this spring.
Once I saw Mike Grasso moved into Nisky years ago with his young family, I knew good things would be happening in Nisky sports. I’m not surprised at all. Congrats to Nisky and good luck in the State Chip!!
Another big game.
@BethlehemCSD
shows that losing a bunch of seniors didn't impact the team, as they beat our
#1
team Colonie 59-48. Beth led by J. LaClair (19), Ortale & Salo (10) apiece. Moll held to 11 points. Statement win!
And to the seniors who have played your last high school basketball game. Your adventure is just starting when you go to college next year. Be safe, study hard and make your parents proud. Don’t forget all they did to support you through your high school years. Good luck!
Another great award for
@Based_JaJa
celebrating not only his athletic success but his academic success as well. Congratulations Joe!

Semi-final games tonight at Glens Falls. I’ve seen all these teams play several times. They all belong in these games. Good luck to all the teams tonight. Check out my write-ups of all the teams.

This is so sad. I almost went to St. Rose many moons ago to play Baseball, but chose Siena where I wasn’t good enough to play. Ha. But I know a lot of friends, nieces, & nephews who went to St. Rose and to see it close is extremely sad.
This is ridiculous. Test the student athletes ages 13-18 who want to play. If their positivity rate is under the 4% rate which it likely would be then let’s play. Why are we using a positivity rate that includes people who are in different demographic?
Let’s go🏀
Game 3:
@ShakerBlueBison

@ColumbiaDevils
73-68. Columbia came to play and made Shaker play its best to win. Shaker led by: Seymour (24); Clayton (16). Columbia led by Adams (18).
