I took a very back seat approach to this search. Looked at guys like @Texans_Thoughts who were giving analysis and @PatTalksTexans who is always very well informed and knowledgeable. This name is one that caught my interest. Can’t wait to see him show off the talent we have.
The #Texans are hiring #Rams TEs coach and pass game coordinator Nick Caley as their new OC, as CJ Stroud and the Houston offense get a new play-caller, per me and @TomPelissero. Caley drew interest from the #Jets and #Patriots. He was selective and lands in Houston.

I have no idea how organisations work their coach vs their assistant coach. Is it an advisory role? Is it laying out cones? Is it a joint coaching performance? There’s several factors that should and will be considered. DeMeco knows as well as anyone this is a crucial hire.
Before you get up in arms about someone who was part of the old staff being a top candidate for OL coach, just know that I have it on good authority that he’s well liked within the Texans locker room. Specifically by Joe Mixon.

Inject it into my veins.
🚨PROJECTION: #Texans DE Danielle Hunter is projected to sign a 2-YEAR, $46 MILLION CONTRACT extension. Hunter has 1-year left on his deal. Danielle, 30-years-old, had 12 sacks this season & is a 5x Pro Bowler and All-Pro. Hunter had had double digit-sacks 3 seasons in a row

This is actually unbelievable. Ben is one of the best in the business.
If I had to guess today: The Ben Johnson domino changes things so I tried to account for the outcomes here. Patriots: it was Vrabel all along that was easy. Jets: I think Aaron Glenn is who they want, if he were to choose New Orleans this starts to get interesting I suspect Flores as plan b. Saints: again I think Aaron Glenn is their top choice, but if he chooses NY, Mike McCarthy has a long relationship with Mickey Loomis. Joe Brady would be my plan C guess. Jags: want Ben Johnson, but I think they’re plan C for him. My bet has been on Liam Coen winding up here. Cowboys: despite the initial Deion Sanders stuff that’s not really a thing, and they have no formal interview scheduled despite no obstacle to doing so. Kellen Moore would be my guess here. Don’t sleep on current OC Brian Schottenheimer as a plan B. Bears: they’ll be fighting with the Raiders to try to get Ben Johnson and my gut says this is a better job. Team has more pieces, a defense in place and a young QB. The Bears have plenty of money and no qualms about paying the $15m+ per year Johnson would command. If they’re unable to seal the deal with Johnson, pursuit probably pivots to Monken, McCarthy and/or Pete Carroll. Raiders - much like the Bears Ben Johnson is target one. The question is whether or not they can land the plane. The Raiders do have some nice pieces on either side of the ball, Bowers and Crosby are draws for anyone. That said the rest of the roster is much further away, and the AFC West is a murderers row. No young QB to build around, and only the 6th pick in the draft. You probably get to have input on GM here, and this is largely a blank canvas, but how patient will they be with this rebuild, a 1st time HC growing into the job in a division where the Chiefs rule the NFL, and the Broncos and Chargers are suddenly ascendant? Pete Carroll would be my #2 here and I think probably the better fit for what they need right now if they’re unable to land Johnson.

Earned a pay rise last season and looked to be one of the best in the business. Ended up wasting a year of CJs rookie contract and leading a very lackluster offense. A great move by Nick and co showing they will out the players in the best position win. #HTownMade
A major change in Houston: The #Texans are moving on from offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, sources say, after an up-and-down offensive season. Despite reaching the divisional round, coach DeMeco Ryans hopes for more. OL coach Chris Strausser is also out.

NFL are a fucking joke when it comes to this stuff. Who holds them accountable
So let me get this straight NFL fines me 25k for something I didn’t even say. Call them out for it, and they response was fine me AGAIN for something that’s not even a violation without even rescinding the first one. Where’s the accountability? Just respect the players. Cold 🌎
