This is another reason why we should legalize all drugs, especially opioids. They can be used as a much better alternative to alcohol. Severe alcohol use can cause multiple life threatening health problems. Severe opioid use makes it hard to shit. Its clear which is better.

I’d argue that alcohol use isn’t safe. Even in small amounts it’s damaging. But safe use of illicit drugs certainly does exist. It’s just more difficult for people than if they were legal. Eg. Recreational (insert drug of choice) clinics could be incredibly safe (if regulated).
