This is a thread about the movie First Reformed (with the plot spoiled) and how it relates to the selfless act of self-immolation and protest done by Aaron Bushnell. Aaron could have decided to take others with him, but sacrificed himself with a hope of ending an unjust âwarâ.
But this also reminds me of Schraderâs movie @FirstReformed. Ethan Hawke plays an alcoholic pastor, former US Army chaplain, in a church in upstate NY who lost his son in the Iraq War. A woman tells him that her environmentalist activist husband wants her to get an abortion.
