For the last time in 2024... goodbye Parliament! š It's been a really busy year. I made 130 spoken contributions, said the word 'Shropshire' 54 times, and took on a new role as @LibDems Health Spokesperson.

But @SKinnock the additional cost burden is 2.8bn The clear shortfall in funding will impact on the lives of many disabled people drawing on care and support. Why are you ignoring the following reports @vodg @NCFCareForum @NCVO @ARCEngland @1adass @LGAcomms @NuffieldTrust
Very pleased to confirm that funding for adult social care will be boosted by an extra Ā£200 million in 2025/26, as set out in the Local Government Finance Settlement. I am fully focused on ensuring everybody can access the high-quality care they deserve.

@Cordisbright @VODGmembership thank you! People drawing on social care will be impacted by the huge difference between the 680m allocated by the government and the real cost increase of 2.8bn. Why the silence on this @SKinnock @wesstreeting @RachelReevesMP
Sober analysis by ā¦ā¦@VODGmembershipā© on the likely impact on voluntary #socialcare orgs of Budget NIC increases. Most currently pay staff more than the minimum wage so are likely to freeze pay to make savings, as well as hand back contracts. .

Thank you for keeping this significant issue at the forefront of peopleās mind @HelenMorganMP We canāt sleep walk into a situation where people are forced into crisis. The clock is ticking @SKinnock @wesstreeting @1adass @LGAcomms
It was lovely to visit Hope House yesterday to meet the staff and children. We discussed the impact of National Insurance and National Living Wage increases on their operation. I've previously raised this, and will be continuing to do so in support of their incredible work.
