I’m so sad to hear this news. When I was a 3rd year medical student on my peds surgery rotation, I would see Kaia almost every morning in the children’s hospital. She would come up to us and the residents and smoosh her little face in our hands for cuddles. Rest easy sweet girl.

I grew up multicultural in a predominantly white town. I saw what white privilege was while out w/ my dad, what micro aggressions were while out w/ my mom. Was told to stop being sensitive when pointing out racism. I’m glad we’re finally talking about it.
