I can’t stop thinking about the terror attacks in Israel & the victims. I’ve played Israeli music non-stop & will now be wearing my fave teen necklace: my name in Hebrew, with a Star of David.
I’ve never been prouder to be Jewish, or felt closer to Israel.
Fear, is not an option
Interesting. John Bercow will also not attend a dinner for President Donald Trump's state visit. A spokeswoman for the Speaker's Office said: "Mr Speaker has been invited to the banquet, but he will not be attending."
Well, not everything revolves around fuckin antisemitism. But fuckin antisemitism & the Labour leadership’s approach to fuckin antisemitism upsets a lot of people in this country. So we report the fuckin public issue on a fuckin public platform. Hope that clears it up.
I really poured my heart into this piece.
My family were reluctant to talk about it, but as the first gen daughter of Iraqi Jewish refugees, I know it’s a story of an amazing community, that must not be forgotten.
I hope that in writing it, someone learns/ remembers their story

- one of British Jewry’s oldest and most iconic synagogues, in the heart of the city of London. So many people, the majority Iraqi Jews who fled persecution, are here to remember the victims of the 1969 Baghdad hangings. A very moving ceremony begins now:
At the

Today, 30 November, has been designated as the day to commemorate Jews that were expelled from Arab countries. My parents were able to flee Baghdad in the 1970s and now safely live in Britain - but many stories did not end so happily. It’s important we remember as many as we can.
On the 80th anniversary of the pogrom against Iraqi Jews, known as the Farhud,
@BBCR4Sunday
put together a piece to commemorate the anniversary. I spoke about its impact on the next generation. Coverage in the

This report was outrageous - and should not have been allowed to run. It's shoddy journalism. Journalists, particularly BBC ones, should not be putting their own opinions in news reports. Orla's opinions on the Israel gov, should not have gone into a Holocaust commemoration piece
BBC has “shamed itself” after Orla Guerin, reporting on memorial to mark the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz at Yad Vashem, disgracefully ends broadcast talking about Israeli “soldiers” the state as a “regional powerhouse” and “occupation”
An announcement from The Jewish Chronicle - the world’s oldest Jewish newspaper, published since 1841. Where I started my journalism career in 2012 - & which fuelled my love of people and their stories. Such an important public and communal role. So sad:
On the final night of Chanukah, we light. My dad bought this Chanukiah from a market in Holland. It was found in the attic of a home that once belonged to Jews. It makes me so happy every time we light it - it should be used.
Ps - I’m going for the jam doughnut
Both sides of Golders Green tube bridge, vandalised. Wonder why a Jewish area was chosen to make the statement…
Vandals on the tracks at night. Calls are now being made to have it removed.
The detail in this is shocking. A judge has lifted restrictions which prevented the naming of a 16-yr-old boy - who raped and killed Alesha Macphail, 6. He can now be identified as Aaron Campbell - after successful applications from media groups:

Me and wife discussing if we going to try to move to the United States or Canada if worst case scenario happens and the Stalinist antisemites take control (the really really bad people behind Jezza in control). I'm probably top of the list for the purge. In jest... But only half.
This really upsets me. Baby formula behind the counter to prevent people stealing it in local Sainsbury’s. Formula is expensive. Many food banks turn it away to “stop dependency/ encourage breastfeeding”. For many families the consequence is devastating
This is a business story. Was it really necessary for the

? Seems quite distasteful and has ugly tone:
If the Labour leader were to stop & answer reasonable questions about a public issue concerning him & his party, then perhaps, people might take his promise to listen to the British Jewish community seriously? Just a thought - but, he chose to peddle off and shout “no” repeatedly

Appalling lack of editorial control by

We want to tell this story in the most important way possible, through the eyes of the people directly affected.
3 Jews left in Baghdad after the death of Dr Eliyahu, who refused to leave with the wave of Iraqi Jews who fled antisemitic persecution after Israel was established in 1948. He was in my mum’s class at school, before she too fled in the 1970s

Making their way across London. Golders Green to St John’s Wood and now in Central London. An open and deliberate ploy to intimidate the community.
Maybe now, people will realise the impact every Israeli-Palestinian conflict has on the diaspora.
After approaching a very indignant Jeremy Corbyn this morning, & being faced with a repeated “no” to all questions, I suppose my earlier musing’s been answered. Unlikely relationships between today’s Labour leadership & the British Jewish community will be resolved any time soon
Anyone who works in a newsroom knows that there are others - beside Orla Guerin - accountable. Where were the producers, editors, text producers? Did anyone flag this? If not, why not? If so, were they ignored? As a journalist it's frustrating. As a Jewish one, it's more personal
