We conclude that the Green Revolution, despite its many limitations, was a necessary intervention that achieved much beyond the limited scope of its design, and, in fact, could not have been predicted in advance. We sincerely look forward to constructive feedback.

Imp. intervention in the poverty debate. Based on rigorous calculations, @all_awry , @abhinav_surya24, and @ruthuca4 conclude that the current poverty level in India is about 26 percent. Much higher than what is generally discussed in the mainstream. Imp read in @reviewagrarian
Wrote a paper with @abhinav_surya24 and @ruthuca4 on current #poverty levels in #India. In it we find that #HCES data has 26 percent under the Rangarajan poverty line - much higher than the figures around ten percent reported in the media earlier.
