@ViaGelliaRedux @revpaulwhite I've got a cheap-ish Fenix for underground, but that was about £50. I was given one of these as a present, rechargeable, head strap is useful for hands-free. Pocket size, I'd recommend a small pouch to keep it all tidy. Less than £20, I think.

@burngold An interesting subject! Jane and Geevor were quite remote so I can understand the extra housing. Crofty in the middle of Camb/Red/Pool perhaps didn't need to bother.

@burngold Ah, I thought the TMS estate was built by Wheal Jane themselves. There's also the Boscaswell estate at Pendeen, I guessed this was built for Geevor.

@burngold Interesting. Now you mention it, they'd have a lot of bonus to spend in the '60's! There wasn't a lot of mid- sized housing between terraced cottages and Victorian villas.

@burngold Oh yes, that would be the fishing boat Rosebud that sailed up to Westminster? There was a section of the hull on display somewhere in Newlyn. I'm sure a lot of cottages were indeed "unfit for habitation", but not all!
