Was having a bit of an anxious day. Pulled into Aldi on way home from work & scraped the side of the BMW beside me 😭 Waited for the woman who owned it. She was so lovely. She just rang to say her garage man said there is very minor damage & he can buff it up at no cost! 😭🥰

Well, I got divorced yesterday. Weird feeling after 18 years of marriage and 21 together. Emotional day, but definitely feeling a sense of relief now. Did all the paperwork myself too 💪

I have to say, I am getting used to being single now. It's lonely at times, but not lonely enough to do anything about it!! I don't think I'd ever be able to live with a partner again. I never thought it'd be like this, but it is, and it's so peaceful. Being single is grand 🥰

This lovely man was a friend of my Dad. He's 86 in August. He told me he has a bad knee so he cycled down to the prom & walks then.
He also has an exercise bike at home & does 20mins twice a day.
His bike is at least 60 years old, it wasn't new when he got it 60 yrs ago!

My 19 yr old is thinking she won't bother learning to drive as it's bad for the environment & she'll just take public transport/cycle.
Not quite sure what to make of it tbh. Think she should learn to drive, just so she can drive, but then I kind of like her attitude also. 🤷♀️

I've come to the conclusion that overall, having no cycling lanes is safer than painted line cycle lanes.
Segregated are the only ones that can work.
I've a masters in civil engineering so don't argue with me.

1. It is not compulsory to use a cycle lane and all Gardai should know this.

I would just like to say that my 20 yr old daughter brought home a bag full of her friends' cans & bottles from town last night. They socially distanced and nobody was drunk. Her bf dropped her home so she said she'd take responsibility for the litter. I couldn't be prouder.

Last night I realised my future might be living in a mobile home somewhere w/my bike & I'm surprisingly okay with that to be quite honest with you. The housing crisis here means divorced middle aged people will be doing this or living Golden Girl style, which is also 100% fine 😊

Just thinking about when I started cycling almost 4 years ago after my marriage ended.
I was TERRIFIED rocking up to the first spin but the members were so welcoming. I'm now club secretary for over 3 yrs & do a lot of the PR stuff too.

I'm starting a new job tmrw. Yes another new job! 4th move in 14 months! It's a very decent promotion & I am thrilled. Unfortunately, it's the end of commuting by bike for now, but it gives me independence which is the best news ever after such a tough few years.

Of course most of us would prefer to be outside, but it has its place especially during winter, storms & when living in cities.

My ex & I bought an indoor plant together in '98 & it's more or less dead now. My daughter asked me how old it was today.
It still kills me that my marriage is over. There was a time when that man absolutely adored me and I loved being a wife.
It's just very sad.
