The SR High School community lost a legend this weekend. Pops was a fixture around campus and especially at athletic events. He loved our baseball team and he always took great joy reminding everyone that the last words of the National Anthem are: "Play Ball!"

Cody Jackson, aka Code Red, was our CF and our Closer. Cody hit .316, had 2 saves and no runners reached base when he pitched. Cody kept the team loose with his laid back nature but was a great competitor between the lines. Cody will be attending Santa Barbara City College.

Jackson Johns had some huge moments this season, getting 3 two out hits to take leads. His bat was on 🔥, hitting .353 but we’ll miss his gold glove even more. Jackson can straight ball but he is an even better person and teammate. Jackson will play D3 at Hamilton College in NY.

Hayden Hattenbach was having a very special season. Hayden had a 1.09 ERA, 38 K’s in 19 2/3 innings and threw a no hitter in the last game of the season. Hayden was our horse and his commitment to the game and in the classroom earned him the opportunity to pitch at D1 UCSB.

Gibson Hoch has been a Varsity starter for 3 years. He was an extreme competitor & brought swagger back to the Dogs. Gibby’s baseball IQ was on another level and was a player you can always count on in any situation. Gib had a 1.17 ERA and hit .500! The lefty will take a gap year

Hudson Gong was lightning on the base paths, easily the fastest kid on the team. Hudson is another one of our multi-sport athletes, playing football in the fall. Hudson was an outfielder and Relief pitcher but his specialty was stealing bags. Hudson will be going to COM next year

Tristan Freitas was the 1st one on the field and the last to leave. He was one of the hardest workers, extremely coachable and an all around great person. Tristan played corner OF, DH and would do anything for his teammates. Tristan is still deciding where he will attend college.

Paris Blankenburg
Paris was days away from coming back from an injury. He was a relief pitcher with a huge curve and devastating change up. Paris also had the best mustache on the team, including the coaches, many say the best at SR. Paris will be attending Chico State next year.
